I think they're awesome, but go figure.I like minor league logos to be campy and fun, these are too serious for me.I don't think they are bad, or poorly designed (the M-A bone logo is hard to see though), just prefer the previous logos more. So they went from some folks who didn't even specialize in sports branding last time... to one of the old guard reliable pros? I love Dan's work. He's as good as they come. So there's very few nits to pick and you pretty much know you're going to begin grading at a B+ with him and likely go up from there.But in the interest of being honest and thorough...the M/A/stick is just too much...just a tad too high concept and low yield. It takes some real looking at to even make sense of it. The A alone is lovely.Also the white irises? Why? I mean I know why I suppose....as a nod to the logo it is replacing. But no, no, no. Go with plain old skeletor eye sockets please. This does not work. It's a small thing but I totally hate it.I also adore symmetrical logos but I guess I question the star at the bottom center. That's the winner in this and a huge upgrade over the last logo.- on the primary the epaulettes look like two scrub brushes, but I'm not sure how you correct that because that's basically what epaulettes look like. Maybe fewer tassles?- Only real criticism is the MA Stick logo being a jumbled mess. Should've either used just the MA or the M with the Stick or the A with the stick, but all three elements woven together like that just looks like an illegible blob. I would've tried to rework the bone anchor from the last set. But really not a lot to complain about. Serious upgrade over the last one, which I always thought was a disaster. I like how they managed to get the letter "I" dead center in the middle of the logo by sneaking the L under part of the S. I'd say the stand alone head and collar logo is almost better than the full primary logo, but both are great. I like how the white in the eye gives the skull some life.As far as the M/A bone logo..if they made the A different color than the M, it'd be more legible. That navy outline is thin and even all the way around the Admiral's head, but when it gets below the letters it gets thick all of a sudden. I think that's pretty forced.
