msubulldog
If there were a "uniform police" back then, they would have had a field day. Some of the Dolphins wore jerseys without stripes, and some with. And not all the fonts for the names on the back of the Redskins jerseys were the same. OL John Wilbur wore the font they used for most of that season; and LB Myron Pottios wore a really large font for his name.
CubsFan4Life
And it still looked way better than the last couple Super Bowls.
GUD Bill
Yeah the 1970s were bad. Several teams had multiple versions of the same jersey - usually a heavy durene for cold weather games and a mesh jersey for warmer weather games. For some you could tell the difference between the two by the number or letter fonts, how thick of an outline the numbers had, or by the presence/lack of or orientation of sleeve stripes. The year after Super Bowl VII, the Dolphins went so far as to have two different helmet logos going at the same time - 'the dolphin in the Sun' and the 'dolphin out of the Sun' - a la the '83 Redskins with the curved and straight feathers. MJWalker45
Let's see if they do that for the throwback games. That'd be a pretty cool touch.
