TheGiantsFan
Wow I love the Mexican colors with a strawberry shade of red! It's cool to see how your knowledge of the state makes the concepts more realistic and more unique. Sometimes I have to remind myself that you're not making everything up anymore.Pretty much the nicer aspects of Salinas into one identity! Glad you liked it! My home state has so much to offer artistically, and I'm enjoying showing all that about California off through this series. And I really enjoyed that last comment. Haha...Author John SteinbeckBoth kits are absolutely amazing and the colors look great. I have nothing else to say. Great job.Yessir! Glad you liked Salinas CF! Um wouldn't this be called the Cal-Neva Leauge seeing as there are teams in Nevada. That is my only concern. Apart from that great workI do understand your argument here, but I would like to bring to you the MiLB's Texas League, which has half of its eight teams located in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and even Missouri. So if it works just fine with them, it'll work fine here. And plus, the Cal-Ore-Nev-Ari League (there are also teams in Arizona and Oregon) would be quite a mouthful. --------------------------------------------------------------Freeway DivisionReal San DiegoSan Diego, CaliforniaFounded: 1970Championships: 4Real San Diego is one of the 7 founding teams of the California Soccer League in 1970. Following the inception of Coronado SC during the 80s, the team change its color scheme to a systemized color scheme between its soccer teams and the major college teams in the city: since San Diego State is red and black and UC San Diego is blue and gold, the soccer teams would have one color from each school to show that there is no bias between a team and a San Diego university. With that said, Real is red and gold while Coronado will be blue and black. The crest consists of an "SD" monogram that admittedly looked much better on my original sketch than on the final product. There is also a crown on the top represents the fact that San Diego is the first European (specifically, Spanish) settlement in California. The home kit is a simple gold-on-red kit, whereas the clash kit uses the crown design from a crest and incorporates its two-tone gold. The kits are supplied by Umbro and the sponsor is Qualcomm.~ Daryl BEHANCE | PORTFOLIO

It's also nice that you like Real's color scheme and yes, it is indeed Mr. Padre as the player name! I'm all out of things to say. All of your concepts look greatThanks! ---------------------------------------------------------Mojave DivisionCoachella Valley UnitedPalm Springs, CaliforniaFounded: 1988Championships: 0As the name implies, Coachella Valley United represents all the cities along the valley, which includes among other cities Indio - home of the Coachella music festival - and resort cities such as Palm Springs and Indian Wells - which hosts tennis' BNP Paribas Open. The crest itself has many visual representations of the valley. First and foremost is a date palm/windmill hybrid, which represents both the valley's date fruit industry and the large wind farm seen entering the valley from the west along Interstate 10. Behind it is a sun on a turquoise sky, representing the area's hot desert climate. I myself have seen similarities between this and the crest of Leicester City in England (I actually thought that that place's pronunciation was "Ley-chester" rather than its actual pronunciation of "Lester").The home kit is nicknamed the "palm tree" jersey, with two shades of yellow with light green trim. The clash kit uses gray streaks that represent wind as a nod to the San Gorgonio Pass, where the wind farm is located, being one of the windiest places in California. The kits are supplied by Puma and the sponsor is the Spotlight 29 Casino in Indio, one of many Native American casinos that dot the Coachella Valley along Interstate 10.For the next team, Las Vegas or Fresno?~ Daryl BEHANCE | PORTFOLIO
rykochristie
I'm actually stumped on this one...The color scheme is vibrant and the patterns are plain, which I say is a GREAT combo. It's Billy Steinberg, a famous songwriter raised in Palm Springs. It certainly was pretty interesting working with that color scheme, and stripes I figured was the best way to go. Glad you liked it! Haha...Mojave DivisionSC Las VegasLas Vegas, NevadaFounded: 1985Championships: 0Las Vegas is a city known for excess and extravagance, so I based this team's identity on that. The crest is basically a compressed (into more of a squarish diamond shape) version of the famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, with the team's colors also inspired by the sign. The home kit consists of a highlighter yellow top with red-and-white trim (more on this pattern in a bit) and blue text. The clash kit is a simpler black-on-white jersey, meant to evoke black playing cards. On both kits as well as the crest, there is a pattern inspired by the outer parts of poker chips. Keep it up!Wikipedia and my personal knowledge of some of these places really help define each team's identity in the CSL. I'd certainly like to see your California soccer league one day. Glad you're enjoying my series, by the way! The crest reminds me of Fenerbahçe. I love Fenerbahçe's crest. Both kits are unique but both relate to the team and both look great IMO. Another very well executed team. It's the ash leaf that makes you think of Fenerbahce when you see Fresno's crest, ain't it? I actually wanted to do more of a Yosemite thing for the clash, but then I realized that I still had many mountain-city teams left to do, so I just took Fresno's pride in their university and made that into the clash kit. This team is owned by the same company who owns the San Francisco Giants, hence the "Sporting" name and the orange-and-black color scheme. I was considering making this team's name "Sporting 415" for the City's area code, but I later decided for a more traditional name. As for the crest itself, it's basically the eagle phpenix taken from the San Francisco city flag above a miner's spade; San Francisco, as a vital port town, experienced a major population growth during the California Gold Rush. The home kit is a simple black, white, and orange kit. The clash kit is an orange kit, with stripes mimicking the stripes seen on the eagle wings on the crest. TheGiantsFan
Bay Area DivisionMt. Diablo WanderersWalnut Creek, California; Livermore, CaliforniaFounded: 1988Championships: 0First off, shoutout to Lafarge for the name idea, as he has the Mount Diablo Phantoms as his league's Bay Area team; if I had not discovered that concept, I probably would have gone with something with the "Tri-Valley", or an inland subregion of the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. Now to some cooler parts. What makes Mt. Diablo unique is that they actually have two home stadiums throughout this part of the East Bay, with one home stadium in Walnut Creek and another in Livermore. The thing with that is that half of the Wanderers' home games are played in Walnut Creek and the other half in Livermore, so to enhance the feeling that this team represents the whole region rather than any single city. As for the crest, it takes the twin peaks of Mt. Diablo to form an "M" and "W", with the "D" wedged in between them. The colors are red and black because, since diablo is Spanish for "devil", those are colors commonly associated with the devil. The home kit is a two-toned red kit with the Mt. Diablo abstraction across the top center. The clash kit is a white jersey with a red gradient at the bottom, with a silhouette of Mt. Diablo in there. The kits are supplied by Puma and the sponsor is Chevron, who's actually headquartered in San Ramon and not somewhere in Texas, as I had originally thought.~ DarylEDIT 10/20: Moved this team from the Gold Country Division to the Bay Area Division.
