2015 NFL Season-Now with Playoff Talk

The Seahawks and Kam Chancellor are still far apart on contract negotiations. Are his days in Seattle numbered?

Sure, & he'll regret it for the rest of his life once he's gone. If the Seahawks budge, with what, 3yrs remaining, that'll open the flood gates for other players who'll treat signed contracts like nothing.

Actually, the NFL should just guarantee contracts across the board. If the teams can throw away contracts, they players should be able to as well.

Agreed. The amount of money the NFL prints is enough to guarantee contracts. In turn would nicely rid of signing bonuses, which are the true guaranteed monies yes?

Here are my predictions for 2015.......

AFC East

New England 13-3

NY Jets 9-7

Miami 7-9

Buffalo 6-10

Nothing changes

AFC North

Cincinnati 11-5

Pittsburgh 9-7

Baltimore 7-9

Cleveland 3-13

The Bengals going to the playoffs is just as predictable as not seeing the Bengals uniforms from the 80's and 90's in a Madden game.

AFC South

Indianapolis 12-4

Tennessee 9-7

Jacksonville 6-10

Houston 5-11

Just as predictable as Indy and New England winning their divisions.

AFC West

San Diego 10-6

Denver 8-8

Kansas City 7-9

Oakland 4-12

Another year when the Raiders don't go to the playoffs.

NFC East

Dallas 12-4

Philadelphia 9-7

Washington 7-9

NY Giants It don't matter if it's 7-9 or 0-16, Tom Coughlin is fired anyway!

NFC North

Green Bay 15-1

Detroit 8-8

Chicago 7-9

Minnesota 5-11

Predictable to have the Pack win the North again.

NFC South

New Orleans 10-6

Carolina 7-9

Atlanta 5-11

Tampa Bay 1-15

It had to be done.

NFC West

Arizona 11-5

San Francisco 9-7

Seattle 6-10

St. Louis 4-12

I don't buy into the 49ers being a last place team.

Wild Cards

Tennessee over Cincinnati

Arizona over Philadelphia

San Diego over Pittsburgh

San Fran over New Orleans

Divisional Playoffs

Green Bay over the Niners

San Diego over Indy

Dallas over Zona

The Pats over The Titans

AFC Championship

Patriots over the Chargers

NFC Championship

Packers over the Cowboys

Packers over the Patsies in Super Bowl 50.

My predictions:

The Eagles won't be very good and Kelly will be the latest genius coach who turns out not to be a genius.

The Bills won't make the playoffa, but will go 8-8 or better.

The Cardinals will make the second round of the playoffs or better.

The Panthers won't make the playoffs.

The Patriots will win the AFC East again.

The Broncos will not win the AFC West and this will be Peyton Manning's last season.

The Seahawks will either win the Super Bowl or miss the playoffs; it's boom or bust for them.

Surprise playoff team: the Houston Texans.

Finally, several people who've sworn off the NFL will have plenty to say throughout the season.

Oh, and one last thing - no one will care about your fantasy team.

Using that schedule picker website:

AFC

East: (1) New England 14-2, Miami 9-7, Buffalo 8-8, NY Jets 4-12

North: (4) Cincinnati 10-6, (6) Baltimore 10-6, Pittsburgh 8-8, Cleveland 5-11

South: (2) Houston 13-3, (5) Indianapolis 12-4, Tennessee 4-12, Jacksonville 3-13

West: (3) Denver 11-5, Kansas City 9-7, San Diego 8-8, Oakland 6-10

NFC

East: (3) Philadelphia 11-5, (6) NY Giants 9-7, Dallas 6-10, Washington 4-12

North: (2) Green Bay 12-4, Detroit 9-7, Minnesota 5-11, Chicago 5-11

South: (4) Carolina 10-6, (5) New Orleans 9-7, Atlanta 9-7, Tampa Bay 2-14

West: (1) Seattle 13-3, Arizona 8-8, St. Louis 6-10, San Francisco 4-12

Playoffs

Indianapolis over Cincinnati

Baltimore over Denver

Philadelphia over NY Giants

Carolina over New Orleans

New England over Baltimore

Indianapolis over Houston

Seattle over Carolina

Green Bay over Philadelphia

AFC: New England over Indianapolis

NFC: Green Bay over Seattle

Super Bowl: Green Bay over New England

The Falcons have a friendly schedule, but I do have concerns over how the defense will shape out as well as whatever becomes of the offensive line. It's not a good sign that they're making lineup changes to the line between cut-down day and the first game.

I know this is going to be seen as an obvious homer question, but how is it the Vikings are supposed to lose two more games than the did last year, when last year they had a rookie head coach, a rookie quarterback and had to go without (arguably) the best running back in football?

Probably due to their schedule. Here's who I had the Vikings losing to: @SF, DET, @DEN, KC, @DET, @CHI, @OAK, @ATL, SEA, @ARZ, @GB

Now I doubt the Vikings will actually go winless on the road, but I go pretty conservative on making predictions. I tend to go with the home team unless the road team will likely be a decently-numbered favorite.

Even with more losses, they should be a stronger team. They played the AFC East + NFC South last season for whatever that's worth; playing the AFC West & NFC West this year.

I don't have them in the playoffs though. I see GB & DET from the North, PHI & DAL both in also bumping anyone else.

Oh what the hey....

AFC

East - I think this division is solid for once from top to bottom, obviously the Bills and Jets have great defenses... just no QB's and Miami is growing, ready to breakout and of course New England...

New England

Miami (WC)

Buffalo

NY Jets

North - Sure the Steelers offense is nice, still don't have much of a defense. Baltimore doesn't need a lot to be good, that seems to be every Ravens SB team. Cincy, meh... like Andy Dalton needs to take that next huge step and well Cleveland... Johnny Manziel is starting by Week 4.

Baltimore

Pittsburgh (WC)

Cincinnati

Cleveland

South - Worst division in Football. Colts can go .500 in their non-division schedule and still win this division by 3 or 4 games. I like Jacksonville's Defense, could be a Top 10 one by the end of the year.

Indianapolis

Houston

Jacksonville

Tennessee

West - It's not Denver's to take anymore, aging Peyton, but still a great defense to get them by. I love Kansas City for some reason, and San Diego is always gonna be around

Denver

Kansas City

San Diego

Oakland

NFC

East - I think it's a coin-flip between the Eagles, Cowboys and Giants to win the division... the Washington Football Club is probably picking 1st next year.

Philadelphia

Dallas (WC)

NY Giants

Washington

North - Pack still the class, but the gap is closing. Everyone likes Minnesota, I do as well, Detroit is either gonna be really bad, or a Wild Card team. Chicago is just awful

Green Bay

Minnesota (WC)

Detroit

Chicago

South - Might be the best, worst division ever. Looking for another 8-8, 7-9 division winner... could be any of the teams. I think Tampa Bay is a huge sleeper.

Tampa Bay

Atlanta

New Orleans

Carolina

West - Seattle and Arizona should fight it out all year, I'm not a fan of the Rams and the Niners are gonna be a Top 5 pick next year

Seattle

Arizona

St Louis

San Francisco

Playoffs....

AFC

3 New England over 6 Miami

4 Denver over 5 Pittsburgh

1 Indianapolis over 4 Denver

2 Baltimore over 3 New England

2 Baltimore over 1 Indianapolis

NFC

3 Philadelphia over 6 Minnesota

5 Dallas over 4 Tampa Bay

1 Green Bay over 5 Dallas

3 Philadelphia over 2 Seattle

1 Green Bay over 3 Philadelphia

Super Bowl 50

Green Bay over Baltimore - Homer Bowl over...

Can't read that story in phone because some dumb unscrolling video is taking up a third of my screen.

Modern Web design is just brutal.

EDIT: Has anyone signed up for NFL Sunday Ticket online? You need to live in an area not served by Direct TV (like, say, downtown Seattle). I was originally annoyed that it cost extra to stream to both tablet/phone/PC AND Xbox One, but then I was upgraded to the "Max" version (which allows streaming to all devices) for free.

It's $50/month or $200/year. I've long wanted a legal, paid option to stream NFL games, so it was time to put my money where my mouth is. I'll see how it goes.
