So the Raiders look pretty competitive. I don't wanna risk overstating it and saying that they look good, but they're actually starting to remind me of an NFL team again. They may have finally just found their quarterback in Derrick Carr.

There's absolutely no excuse for the Steelers to lose that game. What can I expect from Tomlin though with his clock management?

If the Steelers go 8-8 this year, it would not surprise me if they fired Tomlin.

You wouldn't be surprised if a team that's had exactly three head coaches since 1969, and kept its last one for 14 years before he won a championship, fired a coach that's won two Super Bowls?

OK then.

Tomlin's won one Super Bowl and lost another. Your point still stands though.

not to mention, neither Noll nor Cowher were fired.
I get that, but something seems different about Tomlin. Not sure what it is. I don't hate him, but he's regressed as a coach in the last few years it seems like.

Oh and Derek Carr is legit y'all.

They're pretty good with a young (& cheap) QB, already top 10 WR and improving pass rush.

The Raiders are definitely a good team. The only bad loss they have is to the undefeated Bengals. They should be competing for a wild card spot the whole season.

They must at least split this week and @PIT next week since their next four games are very winable: MIN, @DET, @TEN, KC.

Ricardo Lockette just got hit on a punt return, and he was down on the field for about 5 minutes without moving. At the hospital now, moving and responsive. Scary moment.

I hate this kind of hit. 38 on Dallas could have achieved the same effect using his hands to soften the blow, but instead chose to go for the big hit over safety and put Lockette's career and life at risk. It may technically be legal, but it's dumb and needs to go away.

That was a brutal hit on Lockette. Thankfully, he's OK and came out with a concussion... which is probably the best case scenario in that situation. Not belittling what happened, you know.

As for the game itself: It wasn't pretty, but I will take it. Seattle is at .500 with a bye week and two games with the Deadbirds coming up. Considering that Arizona looked sloppy in Cleveland today, I say they're ripe for the picking.

I would think that the Cardinals were watching the Seahawks today and thinking the exact same thing.

Yeah, they were so sloppy that after being down 20-10, they reeled off 24 unanswered points and won going away.

Also, "deadbirds?" Isn't the bar around here set just a little higher than that? B)

The Chargers are an utter disgrace, on and off the field.

For once, I agree with your assessment of the on-field performance of the Chargers. You may be right about the off-field stuff too, I don't follow the team closely enough to know.

The off-field stuff makes the on-field product look like the Patriots by comparison. Dean and his scumbag lawyer are still doing everything they can to force the team to LA and shoot down any attempt by the city to make a deal. Said scumbag lawyer was brought in by the NFL this past week to host a "town hall" meeting, and this was the end result:

And while this is going on, the team is 2-6 (and is a gift penalty by the Browns away from 1-7), led by a clueless front office and the most inept coaching staff in the league. And the sad part is, with Dean Spanos in charge, chances are nobody's getting fired, and even if they were, their replacements wouldn't be any better.

This franchise is a mess. I can't wait to see Dean try to sell tickets to this circus in LA. That shiny new stadium will be just as empty as the Q, and I'll be loving every minute of it.

Frank Cignetti's not a good OC and probably should be let go if the Rams could ever find somebody else to take the job.

That said, he's probably done 4 times as much with Tavon Austin in 7 games than Brian Schottenheimer did in 2 :censored: ing years

Why Brian Schottenheimer continues to be gainfully employed as an offensive coordinator by otherwise self-respecting football teams is one of the great mysteries of the universe.

OK, before the comeback and even during the comeback, they were sloppy. 4 turnovers for Arizona in that game against Cleveland, coming off a short week.

Oh, and if you have better insult then Deadbirds, be my guest.
