With the Panthers knocking on the door, what's the over/under of Mercury Morris awakening from a cocaine-induced coma and making a public appearance? Two weeks?

I'm starting to tone down on the hype for Minnesota. Take away Peterson, it doesn't seem like they can do a whole lot of damage.

As well you should. Preseason injuries have made this O-line abysmal, and today the defense played minus their three best players and it showed. Getting to 7-2 and a one game lead in the North got everyone excited, but it wasn't exactly real. This team is another good draft away from making a push. Love the coach, like the GM, so I feel like they're in good hands. At the beginning of the season, I said I'd be very happy if the Vikings get a wild card this year, and I still will be if we can get there.

It's been a step in the right direction and if healthy, they are an above average team. But they have a below average QB. They didn't even let him throw downfield today down by a few touchdowns. How are they supposed to take advantage of the importance of pass interference?

I think the Vikings have to draft another QB. Teddy throws interceptions and holds the ball too long. He'll never be anything more than a bottom-10 starter.

Maybe, but I think it's too early to say that for sure. He really is just a second year QB with only about a season's worth of starts under his belt, at this point. I'm not giving up on him just yet. I think he made such a big leap during the course of the final 8 game last season, that everybody just expected him really take off this year, and obviously he hasn't. But what I like about him, and what the team and coaches seem to like about him are some of those QB intangibles that the really good QBs have... calmness under pressure, leadership... he usually plays his best late in tight games, which is obviously something you'd like in a QB. I've seen the Vikings go thru a lot of young quarterbacks with all the physical measurables who folded every time things got tough. I'd just as soon stick with Teddy and see what he's got.

And I'm really not interested in becoming another one of those teams that drafts a new quarterback in the first round every friggin' year. Next thing you know, they'll put a giant "MINNESOTA" across their chest and write "VIKINGS" down their pant's legs. No thanks.

Panther's aren't going undefeated. They nearly lost to New Orleans so if anything they looked like they can be beaten.

Chip Kelly is being praised for sorta demoting Demarco Murray, and Murray is getting slaughtered on the post game show for how much faster the offense looks when he's not in there dragging it down. WHat a disaster that signing was - I guarantee both sides would rip up that deal and start over if it was possible. At this point one can only hope for a long term injury so that they don't feel obligated to put him in the games at all once Ryan Mathews comes back.

Murray's 2015 season is the result of the big number of carries he had in 2014.....the Jamal Anderson Theory.

Now Murray did what he needed to do to get his big payday, but he may be a season away from really being anything near his 2014 numbers.

I just can't buy that. You're telling me a 6 month offseason isn't enough to recover from any kind of workload? It's not like he had knee or back surgery or anything. especially since they don't even really practice anymore - he's only getting hit one day a week now.

A reporter actually asked him if he feels that he should contribute more based on how much he's getting paid. He's a thin skinned guy that should be playing in a small town or in Dallas (where everyone with a star on their helmet is the best ever even if they dismember their GF right on the star during halftime).

I thought about that...in fact I have a facebook reply to someone that says "the Vikings are going to have to become the less train-wrecky Browns and start drafting QBs until they find one." Without a top-10 QB, everything else has to be a perfect storm (Dilfer, Russel Wilson, etc.).

I like Teddy and getting him late first round beats the hell out of a certain QB move earlier in that draft. And I hate to think that I am falling prey to being today's "impatient" fan. But I am not seeing much progression and in this league, you cannot sail balls over your receivers' heads for INTs. Maybe that'll improve but I am not certain...On yesterday's telecast they kept talking about how he drops his elbow. Is that stuff fixable? I don't honestly know.

What I'd like to see at least, and this is easier said than done, is a mid-round pick of a Kirk Cousins to Teddy's RGIII. People thought they were nuts drafting Cousins in the same draft but that was probably a good pick. Shaun Hill is a servicable veteran backup but he's nearing the end.

... and he's officially been demoted. At least to third string, and potentially fourth (depending on if they keep playing rookie Kenyon Barner ahead of him like they did last week.)

Chip Kelly has previously stated that Duce Staley (RB coach) has autonomy with regards to the RB rotation and which RB is in on any particular play. Now, Kelly is saying that it's going to be based on production and matchups, and it's obvious who hasn't been producing. Contracts don't matter.

Of course, that could change tomorrow.

I really want to see a division champion at 6-10 so I'm finding myself pulling for Dallas, which is rare.

And this gets shot down every time I bring it up, but I think the league needs to put in a rule that if a sub 500 team wins a division they should have to go on the road for their first round playoff game.

Well almost the whole nation gets the Cowboys in the late slot next week. (I know not quite prime time, but still)
