Hamilton FC - "Steel City" C/C

Doing a bit of a series of Canadian soccer crests - Here's Hamilton FC. Based on the city flag, as well as the local history of Hamilton being one of Canada's centres of the Steel Industry early in their history. Also the nickname hammers seems appropriate given that it's HAMilton + the steel thing.

Least Favorites: New York Giants, New York Mets, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Eagles, OBJ

It has potential, but it definitely needs to be simplified. Maybe try a roundel, something like the hammer inside the chains from the city flag.

I'm interested in seeing this concept progress.

Thanks. Yea, I'm still getting the hang of the design part, I'm still really green. Tend to overdo things a little. I think i'll try something somewhat similar to the portland timbers logo, but maybe have the chains going around the side. Need a better program haha, any recommendations?

You need to remember these will be on jerseys with a patch no larger than 5 inches circumference. Solid lettering and a font that isn't so thin in places will be easier to read. There's a lot of improvement so far, so keep it up.

Couple of different Ideas, and I'll try as well minus the pinstripes as requested. But just looking for general feedback about different aspects of it. I may end up doing two versions, one more traditional european style and one north american style. Anyways here's what i have so far.

Nothings really final, just testing a bunch of things out at the moment.

Vast improvement over the original. Only thing I'd fix is making the bottom of the hammer and the chain line up more evenly. Or just make sure everything is symmetrical. If you're going to be deliberately asymmetrical, you need to make it more obvious that that's what your intent is.
