FiddySicks
ALL ALL star Games are unwatchable garbage. And especially ones where it's a playground style pickem. The_Admiral
There are no teams that are really circling the drain this year, not like the 76ers and Lakers in the NBA, and not like the Coyotes and Sabres last year. It's pariterrific. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
T-ROY
Columbus isn't even a bad team. In these last few games, they've seemed to have really found their game. In their last two games they beat the top 2 teams (Dallas & Washington) with their back-up (McElhinney) and third-string (Forsberg).
The_Admiral
Conversely, even though the entire hockey world is begging to give Jamie Benn the blowjob of his life, I don't think the Stars are close to unbeatable. oddball
All star games lost their meaning about the early 90's, after that they just became worthless. If you want to let fans vote, that's fine, but you have to put limits on it. Two limits that easily could be applied are, let fans vote online once a week. Now it won't guarantee fools from creating fake accounts to vote multiple times, but the idea that you can vote 8 times a day is asinine. Or you could go back to the old method of handing out ballots at games, again, it's not going to prevent ballot stuffing, but it'll help. Though, I do think that the NFL's fans count for a portion, media for a portion, and players a portion is good. There also should be a rule that you have to play in 75% of the games prior to an all star game. And I don't have a problem with fans voting for a captain, but that captain doesn't have to play, he as in what John Scott really should do is just help pick the teams. This just makes me wonder if sports fans are becoming dumber and dumber by the minute and just do the latest what's "cool". The first time around, you kind of laugh, but the more this happens, the more you wonder about sports fans today.

tp49
Considering how absurd I feel the new ASG format is I don't have an issue making a mockery of it by voting guys like John Scott in. If I cared enough to vote, I'd vote only for goons and back-up goalies. It'd serve the NHL right.
T-ROY
If your gonna put some sort of guideline to the vote, then it should simply be that whoever you vote for has to be in the top-x in league scoring or top-x in sv%/wins for goalies.

One well-placed Minnesota Wild trap and they're out on their asses.I don't think it's so much begging to give Benn a blowjob as it is the hockey world is pleasantly surprised to see someone other than the usual suspects atop the NHL West. The Stars are a refreshing change of pace from the Chicago/LA/Anaheim hegemony of recent years.I equate it to when Green Bay in the mid-90s got good fast and some fans had gotten tired of Dallas and San Francisco wanted new NFC blood.Maybe the Stars can give us the NHL equivalent of when the Packers went into Candlestick and altered the NFC pecking order.
