CFL Field in US Stadiums

I guess anywhere with an official sized 400m track ring yes?

This might work. Reading up on the CFL's attempts to bring the CFL to the US didn't succeed for a number of reasons, with location of the US CFL franchises cited as the primary reason and the lack of CFL compatible stadiums as a close second.

Would Portland's Providence Park have been able to fit a CFL field when it was still Civic Stadium?

Or could the LA Coliseum have fit a CFL field before the track was removed and the field was lowered?

On June 25, 1992 the Toronto Argonauts played the Calgay Stampeders in a pre-season game at (then) Civic Stadium. The Stampeders won 20-1 in front of 15,362 fans. This game was played to gauge interest in a possible expansion team that never came to be.

For a stadium seating 20,000+, that attendance figure should have greenlit an expansion team, right?

Not if there is no ownership group, and Portland did not have one.
