Alex Houston 364 Posted October 6, 2015 As much as I enjoy Surly's stuff, the typeface they use for some of the cans, like Furious and Cynic, just irks me for some reason. Maybe it's because the cans seem too busy to my eyes - http://bit.ly/1Q5O3RMI'm a huge fan of Modern Times, with the slick, swift script they use, but I wish they would get rid of the lines on the side, so the text didn't look so compacted - http://bit.ly/1Ok1IapDeschutes just did a rebrand of their own and while I like the consistency of the name clean up top and the image with the description beneath, I don't know if I like the old type more or less compared to this one. Also, looking at these bottles makes me realize that I can't think of a brewery that has their label color correspond directly to the color of the beer. For instance, having a brown label for brown ales or a golden one for pilsners and such - http://bit.ly/1jMQiiK
-kj 2,395 Posted October 6, 2015 ...and now I want some Surly. Oh, well, just need to wait a month until I hit Minneapolis again.

BeerGuyJordan 1,305 Posted October 7, 2015 Great Lakes Brewing Co., ClevelandRelatively recent refresh of their labels (by Darren Booth). The former labels were awful.Story: http://thefullpint.com/beer-news/great-lakes-brewing-company-reveals-new-labels/Love Great Lakes, they always host some great Beer Week events. They still had the old labeling when I was there, this is definitely a step up.
CDixonDesign 178 Posted October 7, 2015 One of the designers that is a huge inspiration to me, Matt Stevens, has a ton of great bottle designs, as well as working on identities for a few local Breweries. More here: http://www.hellomattstevens.com

They are always experimenting and have great curiosities. There are many more out there, but these are a few that I like a lot.

mbannon92 280 Posted November 2, 2015 Triton Brewing Co. out of Indianapolis has a really clean, consistent look. And the beer is excellent.
BroadwayBlueshirt 4 Posted November 2, 2015 The brewery down the way from my old house, Terrapin, was founded by a couple of deadheads, so it makes sense that their label designs are done by an artist who did work for the Grateful Dead.
Gothamite 24,112 Posted November 2, 2015 The Bronx Brewery just updated their design, and they went from a terrible biker-chic mess to clean and classic.Their can design is also very sharp.
