Songs for M L B Players

Brass

Recommended Posts

Well a few weeks ago, I was at Fenway and heard various types of music for entrances to players. Here's the list I compiled:

Manny Ramirez- "Yeah" by User

Kevin Millar- "My Town" by Montgomery Gentry

David Ortiz & Pokey Reese- Some really heavy gangstar rap song.

My question is which songs do they play for your hometown team players. Beside Boston, I know that they play "Welcome to the Jungle" for Eric Gagne in Los Angeles.

Off the top of my head, here's what I remember from the Brewers games I was at last week...

Geoff Jenkins -- "Yeah", Usher feat. Lil Jon and Ludacris

Wes Helms -- "How Do You Like Me Now?", Toby Keith

Bill Hall -- "Game Over", Lil Flip

More to come as I remember them...

Its hard to remember in KC, players dont stick around long enough.

Mike MacDougal -- Rock Me Like a Hurricane

Scott Sullivan -- Sweet Home Alabama

Mike Sweeney -- Jesus Freak (i think he's changed it)

Aaron Guiel -- Seven Nation Army (when he's healthy, at least)

Angel Berroa -- Angel is the Centerfold (by the organist, only sometimes)

Most of the others are loud gangsta tracks, or unknown Latin songs.

There are 10 types of people in this world: those who understand binary and those who don't.

Trevor Hoffman uses Hells Bells by ACDC in SD

When Carlos Beltran was the CF in AA Wichita he used 2 diffrent songs. one was a latin sounding pop song when no one was on in front of him and if there were runners on base, they played the Undertakers Ministry theme

Mariano Rivera comes in to the Metallica version of "Enter Sandman".

Hideki Matsui uses a lot of Beatles, especially "Day Tripper".

Paul O'Neill was "Baba O'Reilly".

A lot of players, like Jeter and Sheffield are using Jay-Z's "Public Service Announcement". I also heard some Brooklyn Cyclones use it.

Womak uses Yeah by usher

Edmonds I think was tipsy

Rolen was "rollin'" by Limp Biskit, pretty lame, but I won't complain, he's kickin' butt!

This team we played in College, Illinois Weslyan had a kid with the last name Rock. So they played some 80's song that started "THE ROCK" or something like that.

One funny thing, all the cardinals have rap songs or at least rock/rap. Then Mike Matheny comes up and its a Christian song.

I was at tonights Rockies game and I noticed they didn't play any one song for any of the players. Larry Walker came out to "Back in Black" all but once. The only other song that stuck was for Charles Johnson and it was "Gifts and Curses" by Yellowcard (it stuck for obvious reasons, based on my sig and avatar)

"Off the top of my head, I know the Cards play some song by Nelly for Edgar Renteria, but I don't remember what. Then it's 'Keep on Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'' or whatever for Scott Rolen."

Limp Biskit. Same song Undertaker used in 2001.

"I better go take a long walk off a short pier or something."

Some people on this bolard have told me to do just that.

My "Ron Mexico" alias is "Jon Tobago".
