They were a mixed red/blue team for their first 10+ years

That's not a bad look. Throw on the modern cap logo and the current "Rangers" script, and I think that's a great look.

I think it's the best they've ever looked

It's amazing how overnight my opinions on both the Angels and Rangers have changed. Can't believe I'm actually in favor of more navy, but in both cases, it would work out great.

I agree about the Angels

That's a pretty bad look. Bad wordmark, gaudy stripes. Nostalgia gets me too...but not here. The late 80s were a better look for the Rangers, IMO.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

I wouldn't call that a blue team with red trim.. That's about as even as it gets.. Striping - equal parts red/blue, cap - blue crown with red brim (70% blue/30% red), jersey wordmark - red with blue trim (70% red/30% blue).. It's pretty even.. Perhaps the stirrups give a slight edge to blue, but there's no way that's a clearly blue team

It's certainly their best wordmark; indeed, that Old West script is the only good wordmark they've ever had.

They should put a big "TEXAS!" Wordmark on they pants a la the Browns.

I just want to see this logo make a comeback in some way:

Whether or not the team is red-dominant or blue-dominant doesn't matter, just as long as they don't mix the blue wordmarks/numbers/NOB with red caps/undershirts/socks (the inverse is OK, but not ideal). While we're at it, the team should also entertain the idea of dropping black belts.

Yeah, the giant striping has to go, but I'm in favor of a royal/red balance for the Rangers, edge to royal blue. No more black.

The Rangers finally removed the black last season. They kept the same wordmarks and numbers, just eliminating the drop shadows. But I agree on the hat. The Cubs looked bad in the old road caps, and would look even worse if they did that with their new lighter blue. The Rangers should bring back red-billed caps for home and road, put RANGERS on the home jerseys, and remove the center white outline from all jerseys. That would allow them to keep wearing the blue and red jerseys.

The old uniforms were bad. The font was bad, the wordmarks were bad. They weren't worth recoloring.

The Astros booted this rebrand, but the logos are great and at least they're wearing the right colors. They could keep the current wordmarks, just use a standard block for the NOB, go to a traditional different number font, lose the road cap, and throw a shooting star over the wordmarks. Those few changes alone would take their set from "meh" to one of the best in baseball, IMO.

In no way is the current MS Word clip art star the Astros use better than the last two cap logos they had. I absolutely hated the switch back to navy and orange at first but I'm beginning to warm up to it a bit. The logo, though? Nope. That thing still sucks. In fact, with all the bevels, it's even worse now.

That wordmark, while not ugly in itself, is just utterly nondescript. It could be used for any team name. It would be fine for little league or for a company softball team.

Whereas the one in the picture above evokes an Old West imagery. It particularly fits a team called "Texas Rangers". It's a beautiful and memorable Major League mark.

The bevels are inexcusable, but that aside, I like the logo. The H is nice and I think it's a nice update of the logo the franchise used for about 30 years.

Agreed. I don't like the beveling, either, the way it was applied is odd.
