MLB 2016 Changes

The Rockies have a "video" board but they also use other screens to make a much larger display section.  That graphic is probably half if not smaller than actual size of the Coors Field in stadium presentation capabilities.

My thought is that they should wipe out those adds (lol, Rocky Mountain news and bank one) and just make a huge video board in left.

Oh, thank goodness.  I just realized a couple days ago that Opening Day kinda snuck up on me while I was dealing with an escaped mental patient, and I've got to get the Wikipedia uniforms in order.  I opened about twenty tabs worth of news, but this will make things much easier on me.

Second time I've heard this.  No matter the sponsor (I still remember seeing the ads for a check-cashing service at a Marlins game), does anyone honestly think teams will get rid of permanent ad space?  Those are probably netting them some serious dough.

They could end up just making the big video board but designating the corners/sides for ads. It seems really stupid but it happens.

That's pretty much what the Indians are doing with their new board. To be fair, they are using the whole screen for hype videos and such, but during game action, I believe they will have ads around the typically displayed info.

Sounds like the Blue Jays' white panel caps will return several times this year.

If paired with the home (white) uniforms, I wouldn't have much of a problem with it.

Wow!  Big news out of Indians camp!  They are apparently changing their primary logo... from Wahoo to... the block C.  What?

It's being reported that the change was only made official just now with an announcement being made.  Is that true?

That sucks. I get why they're trying to distance themselves from the Wahoo logo (which, in a vacuum, I really like), but I wish it was replaced with something better than that crappy block C logo.

There's a few great concepts out there with a feather emanating from the "C," and I think one with an "I" embedded within the negative space of the "C." Would be mych better than the plain block "C."

That said, anything is an improvement over Wahoo.

Block C has been the primary logo for two or three years according to the mothership.

That's interesting, because I thought this change officially happened a couple of years ago.  I feel like usually the main sportslogos.net logo database is very careful about not declaring a logo as a primary until the team actually announces that a logo is the primary (I suppose this is more relevant to NBA, where teams neglect, and sometimes flat out stop using, primary logos for several years before officially changing their primary logo).  And the sportslogos.net website has the block C as being the primary since 2014.  So somebody's "wrong" here, either the main sportslogos.net site, or this news article.

The old Kinston Indians' I-feathers logo would be a far better choice than Cleveland's block letters, IMO.

How is Chief Wahoo a good logo in a vacuum?

Wasn't that done years ago?  Or was that just making the C the primary cap logo?

That's the thing.  Wahoo is still on the home cap.  The only change made was the block C made the official logo.  It's replaced Wahoo everywhere when all the logos are shown together.  I don't know how this could possibly not have been made "official" until now, though.  Had they just done it but not made any official declaration until a year or two later?
