They could end up just making the big video board but designating the corners/sides for ads. It seems really stupid but it happens.

This is what the Mariners do for most of the game except replays and games. It actually gives them more money since they can rotate out ad space.

Yeah, the whole "Anti PC" crowd is so tired. It's just a freakin logo, not a grand representation of the "pussification" (I HATE that word) of America. They sure do bitch and whine a lot for people who ask everyone else to toughen up.

And as we all know, those changes only come when there's official confirmation.  This site's policy has, if anything, been too slavish to the teams' style guides, perpetuating the errors found therein.  If Chris made the change, it's because the Indians did first.

Edit: Was going to reply to Bucfan, but would rather talk about MLB changes than politics...

To Goth's point...it's not like Chris just arbitrarily made the decision to change the primary logo.  MLB.com hasn't used Wahoo in years for the team logo, and MLB The Show used the C as the primary logo in 2014 (and maybe before that), so clearly there was some official change a couple years ago.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Okay, did a quick search.   The Indians quietly changed their official logo in 2014.  Chris wrote about it at the time:

The team didn't make a public statement, perhaps testing the waters and not wanting to stir up controversy.  One of their press reps actually denied it at first, although it's unclear whether that was just his ignorance or a calculated strategy.   In any case, the feared backlash never happened, and looks like it's finally time to acknowledge it.

Just saw on the mothership that the Blue Jays are bringing back the white panel cap for '16, though they haven't said if it's a fixed part of the rotation or just kind of a random thing.

It looks fantastic with their blue jerseys and IMO should be the permanent cap with the alt set (at home only since the white panel wouldn't look good when worn with gray pants, IMO.)

Maybe also make it a "daytime" cap with the white jerseys if/when they wear those during the day (unless that's when they wear the blue jerseys - not sure.)

They may have been there already, but IMO with the addition of this cap, they have cemented their place in the very top tier of best-dressed teams - not just in MLB, but in all of North American pro sports.

I blame one of the local TV stations in Cleveland for creating the stir over the Wahoo thing yesterday. Indians owner Paul Dolan made reference to the switch during a press conference, but he didn't specify that it was something that had officially been done two years ago. The TV station assumed this was news and tweeted out "BREAKING" and it snowballed from there.

If they just would've made the caps the same as the batting helmets, this would be PERFECT. As it is? Meh.

I've been wanting the Royals to add some gold for a while. I'd like them to do something similar to the BP cap Volquez is wearing.

I am sore, wounded, but not slain

I will lay down and bleed a while

And then rise up to fight again
