To me, the Indians red socks work better with the Navy alts and the navy socks work better with white and gray unis. Seems like they have it backwards...

Question... does anyone know if throwbacks are listed in the MLB Style Guides? I don't mean throwbacks that are scheduled to be worn in the future, such as the DBacks Throwback Thursdays and the Mets wearing their 86 ones this year... are passed jerseys of teams listed in the style guides or are style guides only a representation of the upcoming season/current jerseys?

When Flex Base was first announced, Majestic kinda sorta said the same thing.  There are now Spring Training game jerseys, BP jerseys, and regular season game jerseys (which include the ST-patch-less versions of the Spring jerseys).  But they are leaving it up to the teams on what to use and how.  The Astros equipment manager said they aren't going to bother with their version of the BP jersey (the navy with the chest star), even though it is allegedly still available.  They'll just use the new navy ASTROS jerseys in its place as needed, if they even bother with BP jerseys.

Red belts are back too (with this particular set atleast)--not sure if they wore them last year. Feels like the 90s again.

 

 

As for the navy socks (@phutmasterflex)... Last year red socks and navy socks were part of their set, so I don't see that changing. The road grays were worn exclusively with navy socks. I think the home jerseys and navy alternate were worn with both the navy and the red socks. I don't believe the article said that navy socks will be the only option.

Not sure about the red-heavy Indians look.  Socks should always be consistent.  I notice that the Red Sox road uniforms still have names on the back, unfortunately.

I like the red-dominant Indians look, and I wish the roads reflected that more (red script with a navy outline). Heck, I'd like it if they found a way to improve the red cap and made it their primary cap. Going all-out on the red cap, socks (with stripes on all of them), undershirts, and shoes on both the home and road set would inject a bit of flare into the navy-dominant AL Central.

The question asked was red or blue, which one were we going to see and the team replied saying blue was the option. That response led me to believe that red was not an option. Obviously that's not the case after today's game.

Mets, White-Sox, and Rockies won't wear pinstripes till Friday. I'm very eager to see how they look playing with the long side vents. Still don't get why the Yankees are an exception.

On the Padres pregame show, they did a report on the new brown jerseys and afterwards, the reporter said something like "I've heard rumors that we'll be seeing even more brown in 2017."

I like the Padres brown helmets (would rather have shiny than matte, though) and I like the Padres brown caps, but why are they wearing a mismatch?  Why not make the caps and helmets match?

the teal D Backs unis are much better than the red-centric ones. Which is like saying bamboo shoots under the fingernails is better than being electrocuted

So that they can use the helmet with their Marines Camo jersey as well

Because the Yankees are the only ones who care enough to make Majestic suit the manufacturer's template to the team's uniform, rather than the other way around.

Most of the Padres players are wearing dark blue compression sleeves/batting gloves/elbow guards with the brown. Would it really have been that hard to get some brown gloves?
