I've been waiting for this ever since football teams started doing it on their front bumpers.

I'm not a fan of puff embroidery on hats and I don't like this either.

Yeah, actually, that's not bad at all.

Bonus: A good look at the D Backs new road alts. Those look really sharp IMO. They would look better if the red and the black was swapped on the wordmark, though.

I thought they were kind of ugly and gimmicky at first...but matte helmets look pretty good for the teams that introduced them this year.

With that said, not really a fan of the 3D LA.  Regular decal would have worked fine.

It's probably so much more expensive, so why does it look so much cheaper?

3D printing is actually pretty cheap, once you get past the original expense of the printer. I wonder if this will become a trend for teams with two-color cap logos....

I will say this about the Diamondbacks' road uniform: I love that they decided to use a different shade of gray.

But it's kind of close (if not exact) to the mid-2000s Jays' charcoals, which were cool and different but also looked terrible.

I wonder how the 3D logo would look if there was some way to round off the most raised part while keeping the sharp lines where it hits the helmet. Not sure if that made any sense but basically emulate the raised embroidery a little more by being "softer".

As it stands, I like it a lot and hope other teams try it. It could be improved by lowering it by a couple of millimeters.

Was this just debuted yesterday rather than opening day?  If so, why?
