That would be a major upgrade for them.

I have also heard the rumor of all teams getting new BP caps. That would explain why so many retailers are putting them all on clearance sale. Unfortunately this seems like nothing more than MLB/New Era wanting to make even more money. The positive is that it seems to mean more creativity, which, of course, can also be a bad thing sometimes.

Things like BP caps/jerseys im 100% in favour of them being wild, cash grabs, whatever because theyre only practice and Spring Training things. better that than the regular jerseys

Agreed. Go nuts with the ancillary gear if it means maintaining the integrity of the game uniform.

I would love for that "promo" white-paneled Blue Jays cap from earlier this season to become a permanent addition to their set. Wear it with the blue alternate jersey, or just on occasion, I don't care. But they need to bring it back.

I'm calling Cleveland for the mystery team. Moving away from wahoo and going in a whole other direction with their branding and uniforms.

1. Yeah, don't the BP hats change on a regular cycle anyway? It's been 3 years, hasn't it? I mean, aren't they due to change the template league-wide again? Even if the material is still DE, they have to change the design so they can sell more merchandise.

2. The Padres have been "changing" for 10 years. I'll believe it when I see it.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

They came so close with that rebrand, and then fell over on the landing.

I don't think I'd go that far. The Washington script is great on the roads, but the rest of the set is a disaster. Neck piping on the roads, placket piping on the other jerseys. Keeping the old number font, which looks awkward and clunky without the gold bevels in it. The bold numbers drowning out thin logos and scripts on jerseys. The road cap. The home alt cap with contrasting eyelets.

They should use that prototype home jersey, make a similar red alt, keep the road, use a thinner number font, either commit to solid red or solid navy caps, and lose all the current alt caps. I liked the initial Nats set (despite preferring the curly W), but I don't think there's much worth saving from the current uniforms.

My issue with the Nats is from afar their home uniforms look like the Reds. Red hats/helmets, headspoon piping, chest logo, etc. Once you get up close you realize that there's blue piping smashed in there and they have a different number font, but they're closer than they need to be.

I think they knocked it out of the park on their first try and everything since has been a misstep.

There were rumblings back in April in the Tampa newspapers that the Rays could be working towards using the light blue more than the dark blue. Haven't heard much since, but will keep an eye on it for sure.

I'm not a huge fan of the "rays of sunshine" angle, but promoting the lighter blue to primary color would give the Rays a standout color rather than being another navy blue team.

I've never liked it either. It always seems like a less successfully designed version of the Mariners.

Blue Jays should have a 40th season patch. They started in 1977, but they celebrate seasons (not anniversaries) that end in 6s and 1s.

Braves may have a 50 Years in Atlanta patch, or a Turner Field patch, both of which would be pretty troll-ish.

The Braves celebrated 50 seasons in Atlanta this year. There wasn't a patch but they did have a logo for it that was very prominent on television, on merchandise, and at the ballpark. I'd almost guarantee that they will have a Turner Field patch for 2016.

That's pretty much what I've heard. It sounds like some teams are making changes that fit better with their classic look and will be ditching the gimmicks such as alt colored bills for teams that have never had them before the DE rebrand. Some teams are making somewhat natural transitions that make sense with their branding and will be different but nothing drastic. Others are gonna be total headscratchers with color placement and logo usage and will look awful. One team in particular is going to look TERRIBLE with their new BP set.

Again, this is all word of mouth, but I've never known this particular source to be way off on stuff like this.
