I know the bizarre UNI loss is the  main  topic but the Wisconsin buzzer-beater was fun.

Whoops. I didn't mean favorite - I just meant the higher seed.

Anyway, a Sweet Sixteen matchup between Syracuse and Gonzaga doesn't seem too far fetched. One between them as such low seeds, however, feels weird.

Oregon is back into the Sweet 16.  Was not one of their better games but found a way to pull it out against a tough St. Joseph's.  Now if only they could get a better TV slot as their game against Duke is at 10:07 EST on TBS.  Talk about being stuffed in the afterthought spot.

Your entire conference played like utter garbage after getting overseeded by the committee.  Be glad nobody is going to watch the Blue Devils mercy kill the Ducks.

That is kinda weird that they would do that to Duke.

Geesh.  A tad aggressive and harsh there, don't you think?

ugh Xavier. Like UC a few days before, like the Bengals playoff game against the Steelers, like the Reds in the 2012 NLDS. Why can't Cincinnati sports close out sure win postseason games?

No, not at all. Sans Oregon, The PAC 12 has been nothing short of an embarrassment this year. Oregon struggling last night isn't a good sign, either. Duke are pretty much the most experienced team when it comes to tournament time, and frankly, I'd be a bit surprised if Oregon doesn't get beat pretty soundly.

I say this as a PAC 12 fan (who went to a PAC 12 school), also.

You didn't find his comment a bit douche-y?  That's kind of how I read it.

As for the Pac-12, they have disappointed, mainly Arizona and Utah.  SC and Colorado were in 8-9 games that are basically toss-ups so not going to hold that against them.  Cal and OSU sort of disappointed but with the injuries/circumstances they suffered the final weeks of the year (Cal: Bird and Wallace with injuries and the sexual assault case; OSU: Tinkle injured), I think they weren't close enough to full strength to play up to their seeds.

Nothing douchey about Bucfan's statement about how horrific this weekend was for the Pac-12. Where do we even start?...

Colorado got straight dumptrucked in the 2nd half. Oregon State was Oregon State. "Final Four sleeper" Cal was a massive no-show against a 13-seed. Sean Miller's wet t-shirt contest was just embarrassing. Oregon is all that's left, and for being a 1-seed they looked very beatable against St. Joe's and easily could've lost that game.

The Pac-12 has nothing to be proud of after the first weekend of the NCAAs. Perhaps Oregon can save face by beating Duke and Oklahoma, or perhaps they've got a team steamrolling thru the NIT. For some reason, "We're #71!!" impresses some people.

I was referring to rams80's comment there, not Bucfan's.

You quoted Bucfan, soooo....

But I did leave out #3 Utah, who got obliterated by an always-overrated Gonzaga squad. I think that just about covers it. :D

But if you had followed the followed conversation, you would have seen who and what I was talking about.

Back to the Pac-12, in a previous post, I did say that the conference has underperformed, mainly Utah and Arizona.  Cal had some unfortunate circumstances in the days and minutes leading up to their Tournament opener that knocked out any chance it had at playing up to its 4 seed.  OSU was not a 7 seed without Tres Tinkle so that's on the NCAA for failing to notice he'd be out and not dropping their seed accordingly.  As for the Utah-Gonzaga game, that was definitely not a good loss but I'm not sure if you can call an 11 seed overrated, especially when most people thought they were underseeded entering the Tournament.

I'm calling Gonzaga's program overrated as a whole. Year-in and year-out, they beat up on WCC "competition", qualify for the NCAAs and flame out within the first couple rounds. Only once during the Mark Few's long tenure has Gonzaga even made it to the Elite Eight, last year's forgettable performance when they were run out of the building by Duke. When it comes to STRONG mid-majors, I'll take Butler or Wichita State over Gonzaga's program. Lemme know when they actually sniff a Final Four.
