Things that are the way they are... just "because"

Football (mostly NFL) teams that would only wear reversible pants with their white jerseys if they had white pants with their dark jerseys. It wasn't until the Patriots added navy blue pants to complement their silver pants that anyone in the NFL seemed to realize that this could be done.

Wait...those were reversible? So, what you're saying is, teams that wore their primary color pants with their white jersey wore white pants with their primary color jersey, just swapping the top and bottom colors? Come to think of it...thinking of teams in the '90s...Patriots (pre-1993), Dolphins, Jets (pre-1998), Oilers, Chargers, Redskins, Bears, Cardinals, Buccaneers (pre-1997)...and today you've got so much mix-and-match. Honestly, I wish more teams were at least consistent with which pants go with which jerseys. Still, though...the Pats have a metallic color in their scheme. None of those other teams did at those times.

Now, how about the one team that wears white pants with their white jerseys, but grey pants with their black and their blue jerseys? That's right, the Panthers! That could be a good topic for this thread.

Most people don't watch or pay attention to hockey... Now as a huge Hockey fan, I can't really imagine why, other than you don't live in an area with a team. Does anyone know why? Specifically Non-Hockey Fans?

location is obviously a huge part because in atlanta its almost impossible to play growing up, which lessens the appeal and then when your team is the joke of the league their entire existence its definitely hard to attract fans.

Technically, playing floor hockey or roller hockey's possible (playing wise, floor hockey was my main exposure to playing), it's just that ice hockey is the one that pays. Not sure if/how you'd sell a pro floor hockey league though.

Arched wordmarks with numbers beneath them is frequently used, and commonly accepted in NCAA hockey, but NHL teams who have tried it have been criticized (Dallas, Atlanta).

And the Islanders. That was most likely because those jerseys were outright awful, regardless of what logo would have been slapped on them.

That's why most of the teams down south ie. Panthers, Coyotes, Thrashers, Flames, and Hurricanes, are mostly jokes...

Hockey players wearing padded shorts and stockings.

That's because hockey pants and socks (let's use the real names please) are the best option. They tried Cooperalls and not only did they look awful but whenever a player fell he slid halfway down the ice.
