lahaye7
not to mention all the dogs that were watching the game with their owners. Arf! So, apparently the NFL created another public relations headache for itself with this Bills-Jets game: It's completely unwatchable for individuals with red-green color blindness.http://deadspin.com/stupid-nike-uniforms-wreaking-havoc-on-colorblind-nfl-f-1742272136This will blow over quickly, but it's uncanny how the NFL steps into unnecessary messes. Bort
I really wished they would have gone the Throwback Thursday/Color vs Color route (I know that it is impossible due to the one helmet rule but still). Jets in sack exchange green vs the 0 - 4 Super Bowl Bills. Next week a Oilers vs Inaugural season Jaguars set.Every novelty jersey doesn't need to be a throwback though. Bort
Its not that this game looks THAT bad. It just gives me the uneasy feeling that the NFL is easing its way into becoming college football."its just on Thursdays so no big deal"yeah thats how it works. its the first step to bringing this kind of thing to our sacred sundaysPerhaps, but can you give me an example of how they have done this in the past? I honestly think it is due to underwhelming viewership on Thursdays, and that alone. I think it is a short term project to get people to watch on Thursdays. Much like the Pro Bowl uniforms. DEAD!
It almost looked a Jets-Patriots game from the 80'sI liked the Jets jersey, I might even demand they should switch to that shade of green. The Bills in RED? That is just not right... I saw, I came, I left.
CubsFanBudMan
Is this official??edit: looks like nike let the cat out of the bag http://www.nike.com/us/en_us/c/nfl/color-rush?ref=https%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FEgOo9qPFFe#UwzKUJEeSuThe first thing that comes to mind is that the Jaguars are going to die of "epidermal suffocation."I think of Titans vs. Rams every time I see this image. Just doesn't look like an alt for the Jaguars. Looks more like the Rams' old gold that had been muted into khaki before shelved.
Clintau24
You guys are missing the whole point of this "Color Rush"It is unique and offers a brand segment for Nike. The aesthetics are secondary. Not everything about sports uniforms are about looks. They don't care what looks better, they care that people are taking notice of the team is full on BRIGHT colors. Marketing an entertainment brand, that is the bottom line. You're also saying this on a site full of people that obsess over the aesthetics of sports... "I believe in Auburn and love it!" DCarp1231
The Raiders play the Chargers Christmas eve. Could there be a surprise Color Rush game of the others are successful? All black vs all Light Blue? Yellow? Nike can't put out green Eagles jerseys in time for a new season so what makes you think they will put out new pants in less than 3-4 weeks? it's black pants... what would be so hard about that? eRay
I know some have mentioned the colorblindness thing, and I'm glad I wasn't alone. Now my colorblindness isn't as bad as others. Looking at pictures I can tell which team is red and which is green, I could also tell when they zoomed in on players or showed replays....but during the game action I could barely tell that their was two teams playing. I can't explain it. As soon as they stopped running around I could see the difference, but when everyone was moving around the teams looked the exact same to me. I know the other matchups will be much better for those that are like me (and worse), but hopefully they don't let this happen again. In other news, I like the Jags gold jerseys. I even like them with gold pants. The socks I wish were black with the normal white bottom portion, but I get that it wouldn't fit their gimmick. I support them taking on the color of a jaguar, I think it fits.

My son is also named Bort. No, these have nothing to do with boosting viewership. These are about Nike marketing Nike and the league taking extra cash to allow for such blatant whoring. That's why they didn't wear white or blue pants, like people suggested. All red vs. all green. There were probably millions of tweets last night about how awful the game looked, and nearly as many dopes saying the jerseys were "ill" or some equivalent there of. There were hundreds of articles written about the game mentioning the shoulder-to-toe colors are part of the leagues "Nike Color Rush program." That's why it was done. Nike doesn't care that the game looked liked festering anus. They cared that people are talking about Nike products so much.
DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
Its not that this game looks THAT bad. It just gives me the uneasy feeling that the NFL is easing its way into becoming college football."its just on Thursdays so no big deal"yeah thats how it works. its the first step to bringing this kind of thing to our sacred sundaysThis is true. The occasional alternate is fun, but if it becomes a weekly thing for every team then we'd have a problem. Hopefully the NFL/Nike shows some self control. And if you think about it, thank god they do have the one helmet rule in the NFL. Sure it ruins awesome throwback uniforms (bye bye Tampa creamsicles) but imagine how many alternate helmets there would be by now. Is there any chance the Browns wouldn't have an alternate brown helmet (and of course an alternate brown helmet logo to match)? The Jags/Bucs/Seahawks would probably have 3 or 4 by now too. VikWings
Game was bad, but not as bad as I thought it would be. If they wore the normal socks with the white bottom, it woulda been passable.

oldschoolvikings
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Its one game people. Tighten up your panties and suck it up.I think the Jags shade of gold is pretty cool and UNIQUE. Which is what this Thursday Night Color Rush is supposed to be about. Something you don't see for the other 19 games of the season. Some of you really do need to settle down because your nerd-dom is really showing. Its one game people. Tighten up your panties and suck it up.That's sexist, yo.Well, it might feel vaguely sexist, except it's sounds like something my grandpa's drill Sargent would've said back in the "Big One".Actually, now that I think of it, isn't it normally something about loosening your panties? As in "your panties are in a bunch"? I guess when you're dusting off 75 year old zingers, it's hard to get them perfect. http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/
canzman
So here is what we get next Thursday.Based on the sneak peak trailer they showed as well the 4 combos we have seen here is my guess for the last two match-ups.
rams80
it gives this game a novelty that it otherwise wouldn't have, for those people who care, and there probably are a lot fewer of those than we'd like to admit. Otherwise, it dilutes a brand that the NFL fights so hard to maintain. Teams aren't allowed to change their uniforms for 5 years (which is why the Steelers' bumblebee is around until 2017 no matter how much people complain, woo!) and alternates are allowed for only 2 games because the NFL wants you to always be able to identify who is playing (unlike college, where good luck until there's a scoreboard graphic). When Nike has had so many problems, like making the Eagles' green jerseys (how long did that take again?), why is the NFL allowing them to do something this crazy with their brand?Because, $$$. If anyone from Nike is reading this, please note. I have bought an example of every Rams jersey since they moved to St. Louis. I have no designs on buying a "COLOR RUSH" Rams jersey, just because you made one. /Also, I don't like the Lakers and I know its kind of late, but let's avoid making the Rams look like the Lakers. Because in the teaser shot, the blue seemed more navy than royal, at least to me. Also, the white stripe on the pants seems even more out of place here than in their usual throwback. http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/
