colinturner95
In what is quite possibly the most ambitious undertaking I have found myself engaged with in my 5 years here on the CCSLC, I initially found myself bored and doing nothing in Art History 101 and I was struck with an idea I had seen knocked around here once or twice: the NFL's 100th anniversary, which is 5 years away from the current season (Provided my math hasn't been wrong, the 100th anniversary season is 2020-2021). The redesigns in this thread will follow what happened in my previous NFL series, NFL Redesign 2014, so the mess that Tampa rolled out and the clown suits that Cleveland struts around in never happened. Ok, enough of my rambling. For the NFL's 100th anniversary logo set, there is no gold, no silver, no frills. I wanted to keep it clean so here's what came out: I didn't want to change too much, but wanted things to be different enough that people would notice. Now for the uniforms. Every team will have the normal home and away jerseys No alternate jerseys or helmets will be worn this seasons. Alt pants are ok. Every team will have 2 straight throwbacks, or 2 fauxbacks. Teams will wear the throwbacks/fauxbacks 8 times this season. Along side that, I will be also posting the sketches I've based all these on, which is something I've never done before. Ok, I've talked enough. Here's Dallas. (Going by divisions this time) The Pro Combats Dallas unveiled were a big hit among Cowboys fans, and so Dallas changed after their last uniform change wasn't so well recieved. (The NFL logo is replaced by the 100 logo this year). Brushed silver helmet, star on side, nothing too major. Navy and white jerseys, with stripes and stars on the shoulder, number on sleeves. New number font. Grey pants, pretty much unchanged. New font: Basically took the throwback font and straightened it out. Now the throwbacks Not sure the Cowboys have ever looked better than these uniforms, which come from their first season in 1960. I realise I gave you a lot to swallow in the first post, hopefully they aren't as lengthy. C and C welcome as always.

Veras
I'm very interested to see where this goes.First, a note about your math: the 100th anniversary will be in 2020, but the 100th season will actually be 2019-20 (if you think of 1920 as 1 and count up, you'll get to 10 and 1929; 20 at 1939; etc).I like what you have here, and I have to agree with you that the 1960 Dallas uniforms were among their best. The only critique that I have is the size of the number on the front. I don't think that a double digit player number would fit well. Right, I wasn't sure if you were going for the calendar 100th anniversary, which is 2020, or the 100th season, which will be in 2019. Typically, it's the latter that is celebrated, which is why I thought that might have been what you were trying to say. Veras
That seems pretty reasonable to me. I mean, the 21st Century started on January 1, 2001, but we all celebrated it in 2000, because going from 1999 to 2000 is more exciting than going from 2000 to 2001. It's the same basic idea. 1920-2020 looks much nicer than 1920-2019.I know that I'm the one who brought it up, but I was just trying to get clarity. I think the point here is: cool NFL throwbacks. Likely much cooler than the real ones will be, since you're clearly abandoning the one helmet rule. The mothership lists the NFL as 1920-Pres, so that is also why I came to use 2020. Should I have used 2019? Probably, but yes 2020 looks cleaner and nicer than 2019. colinturner95
Don't like back to back posting but screw it, here's New York Sketches: 2020 ThrowbacksSimilar to Dallas, New York's alternate uniform was a big hit among Giants fans, enough so that the ever-traditional Giants actually broke away from a traditional look to this. Helmet remains largely unchanged from previous redesign. Jerseys now feature Northwestern stripe on the chest. TV numbers on the sleeves, GIANTS on the chest. Pants stripe now matches the helmet stripe. Same blue sock, red sock division for the jerseys, blue shoesThrowback time!:Threw it back to 1935, and while they did lose the NFL championship that year, I went with this because it was unique looking and the uniforms before looked too similar to the current uniforms and everything after looked honestly boring.C & C and go.
