Starter?!

Yeah. Not a complete shock, since the JP Trophy kits Oxford wore at Wembley also had Starter branding.

For a couple clubs I follow…

Wimbledon

Nothing special here, which is disappointing in all honesty. Every kit to this point had been pretty interesting from Admiral (especially the old white away kit), but at least it’s not offensive.

SM Caen (away)

Also looks like they had a white third shirt for sale that’s the same as this kit effectively. Still waiting on the home, I think.

If anything, it's a return to form. I love it. Well illustrated and very clean.

"F.C." At the bottom would have been nice for some extra weight to balance the top, but oh well.

It also borrows not-so-subtly from the other two crests in their stable:

Once again, New York leads the way.... :P

Interesting that they’re going with one of last year’s templates for Southampton, probably the second biggest club in their stable, when lesser teams like Villa and AZ have new ones.

I… kinda actually like it, though! Especially since it looks like the back is striped, too. I dunno, I appreciate getting something different out of the white-and-red-striped clubs every once in a while. Plus, that’s a great sponsor for their kits.

Not a fan of the white on the upper chest.

They should have had the stripes go all the way through instead of being cut off like that. It looks like they've blown the crest up a  bit too.

Also from The Modern Game, Premier League shirt numbers and font:

I hope that's not an actual number on that shirt because it looks like S@#%&! What genius though this one half way through and thought, "I'd really like to bring Imperial Basic into the real world!"

That's fake. The Premier League will keep it's current font.

Southampton's kits look pretty poor to me. Too much going on in the home kit and the away kit is forgettable and bland AF.

Looks alright to me. Can you be more specific?

The shield and the roundel don't work together. Use one or the other. I get that it's part of their history but going from the very well designed previous crest to this is a large step backward design wise in my opinion. I would:

A. Have shield elements where they are but remove the shield shape

B. Remove the roundel and design the name around the shield

The only problem I have with the Citeh crest is that "City" at the bottom is not arced.

It's not a good look, but Southampton's big white blotch makes me thing it would look alright on Stoke, rather than Southampton.
