For all of its expansion & media coverage, inviting vet Euros over to play, etc, nothing will match winning the CL to fully place MLS on a top tier. I realize that's hyperbole, yet it's my own perception. @2001mark

DG_ThenNowForever
Who's ready for MLS 2016? The Colorado Rapids are! First Tim Howard, and now Jermaine Jones! Howard will probably be just fine for MLS competition and Jones makes teams better. He's suspended for a bit, but the Rapids need help now. I can't fault the move. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
FiddySicks
Hmm, I dunno about that one. It's good that they didn't have to use a DP spot on him, and he's definitely an upgrade, but they already have a VERY good defense and absolutely no scoring. Adding another defense-first guy, and one with a total attitude problem, seems like a bit of an odd move to me. EDIT: Woah, I just realized that they gave up a first rounder for him, too. That's pretty pricey considering he's gonna miss the first six matches. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) 2001mark
No Jozy this afternoon. TFC need to plow through this 8 game roadie getting as many points as possible no matter the cost. Int'ls call ups this summer they'll be dry, can't wake up in August asking why no playoffs on the horizon. @2001mark

If he's healthy for the other 28 games, Rapids should be in good shape. Howard taking over in net will be interesting. Especially if they are in contention in July and the starter is top of the league in shutouts.

MLS teams must to be focussed in get good players and they don't must to care so much if that players will sell jerseys. This is not the NASL of Pelé, Beckenbauer and Cruijff. LA should always be competitive with the top Liga MX teams, not better just competitive. 4-0 to Santos with the players they have is abhorrent. FiddySicks
How does that work, BTW? So other leagues around the world will honor a suspension given by a different league on good faith, or is there an international federation or something that suspends a player and it stands across any league? If you get suspended for actions in an MLS game, does that make you ineligible for matches in international competition, too? Im pretty new to this whole soccer thing, and find the international setup to be fascinating. Different levels of authority and everything in pyramidal structure: Top: FIFA (International Federation based in Zurich). Level B: Contintental confederations (for USA Soccer, the CONCACAF) Level C: National Federations (USA Soccer) Level D: Private Professional Leagues (MLS in this case) Level F: Amateur Leagues Hope this helps
DG_ThenNowForever
MLS is underway with Toronto and NYRB, and I do my yearly marvel at how magnificent Red Bull Arena is. Nyk33
I'm flipping back and forth between the Red Bulls & NYCFC and I have to say that the Fire-NYCFC is just a gigantic montage of horrible defending.
