I don't like the old GIANTS wordmark on the helmet (wordmarks on helmets almost never look good), but I also much prefer the current NY to the 75 NY.

I know I've said it about a million times, but I really, really prefer the Giants white pants to their greys, to the point that I want to see the Giants adopt white pants full-time at home and on the road. I'm curious to see how the throwback away uniform looks tonight, as it very well might be the Giants' best option for a road uniform.

I do find it interesting that the Giants have never really hit upon a road look that would be theirs. Obviously the current road look has roots in their past, but receives tons of criticism for not incorporating blue into the jersey. Some of their prior road looks were painfully generic. They've never gone with a straight-up inverse of their current home jersey, to my knowledge (plain blue numbers and name on a white jersey). I tend to think that a recolored version of their current road jersey, swapping out red for blue, might look great. But it's amazing how over a 90 year history, they've never had a road look that truly stuck.

The closest they've ever come [to an inverse of the current home jersey] was 1968-1974, which is probably the best Giants' look in history, IMO:

For me that look didn't work too well.

While I like the simple one-colour numbers on the blue jersey, think I'd prefer to see an outline on the number on the white jersey, as on the upcoming Colour Rush jerseys.

Disagree completely.  Love the ny they currently use, love the old GIANTS wordmark, HATE the 75 NY.

As for the gray pants, liked them at first, but now prefer the white.  What I would NEVER want to see them go back to was a white jersey on blue pants look from the mid-late 70s.  Just awful.

Like you, I have recently changed my preference from grey pants to white pants.

But, unlike you, I like the blue pants with the white jersey.

The only thing wrong with that uniform is that the pants stripe is too wide.  But, even with that flaw, it's gorgeous from top to bottom.

Yup. I would gladly welcome some version of either of these.

But knowing color rush, they probably will just give them something that will color swap the gold and white on their current pants.

I love those 94 throwbacks for the 49ers. I really hope they bring them back in some form and the white pants look great with both sets. Looking at this image, i find it interesting that Elvis Grbac has an old logo and font on his hand warmer with the new uniform. That wouldn't fly in today's world.

Right, but they've never used an inverse of their current home jersey (i.e. without any red whatsoever). The closest they've ever come was 1968-1974, which is probably the best Giants' look in history, IMO:

Which is extremely close to what theyd look like if Color Rush becomes their aways...

on the news today they said the Eagles pants would just be straight-up black with no stripes.

That is not confirmed though.

What is confirmed is that they're going to look terrible.

I love the GIANTS word mark on the helmet just as much I love the JETS with the streaking jet. The point of both teams changing their logos was for the move to NJ. GIANTS in 76 and JETS in 78. The Giants did ponder changing the name to the New Jersey Giants but ultimately did not. I saw pictures years ago of the Giants office with a NJ Giants pennant. The Jets tried moving to NJ in 78 but due to their lease were unable to move to the Meadowlands until 84. Although I have found no hard proof of it my parents swear that in the 80s merchandise was sold for a short time with the name The Meadowlands Jets.

Watching some player warm up right now and the eagles are wearing their "regular" black pants with the stripe.....  and as usual most fans are wearing kelly green in vain hopes that the team will come to their senses and switch back to good uniforms

The all black Eagles look doesn't really bother me. Both the black and green are so close in hue that it really doesn't look that different. That Giants set, though? Hoo boy that's beautiful. That should absolutely be their full time look. Old GIANTS helmet script and all.

Even if the Giants color rush uniforms are throwbacks, I am still a firm believer that most if not all color rush uniforms are to experiment new looks and redesigns for teams

Also, unless I've gone blind to uniform history, have the Eagles ever gone mono-green in the Nike-era or ever?

Wow the Giants look great tonight. I'm gonna make a snap judgement and already declare I think these should be their primary away uniform with a matching home set.

I completely agree that this should be their full time road look and I would actually be just fine with them keeping the current home jerseys but with a red outline around the numbers. I would also prefer the regular NY decal over the throwback decal that they're wearing tonight but otherwise it's perfect (if they wore them with the regular blue socks).

On another note, I really hope Nike switches all of the teams (or at least those who agree to it) to the Vapor Untouchable template full time. It's far superior to the Elite 51.

Like everyone else, I LOVE this look for the G-Men... seeing Eli in this set is surreal.

I made the case for these unis on this site over the summer and was dragged over the coals, so it vindicates my stance to see these so well received... I would love to see the Giants keep the current blue set (with the grey pants for the sake of differentiation) as their home gear and to dust off this color rush set as their permanent road set (with socks to match). The Giants were never really able to get the road look right since the refresh in 2000 and the 16-year freshness of the set they tried to replace could solve that problem in spades. Lots of facemask and logo peels - tip your equipment managers!

I would be okay with the Giants making these their permanent road jerseys, with the current "NY" helmet. The "NY" logo is far superior to the "GIANTS" wordmark, and looks way better on a helmet.

That said, I'd love to see a mockup of the Giants' current road uniforms with red swapped out for blue.
