I am aware of the tradition of the Cowboys and Lions and have no problem with this continuation. However, why can't the lions play the chiefs on a year when the Afc West plays the Nfc North instead of continuously seeing NFC East and North foes play. Even when the packers don't play the lions they ended up in the night slot against the Bears. For two straight years watching 6 NFC teams was way too much as a fan of an AFC team.

It's a case of the league trying to make these games competitive so people don't turn them off. If they think Detroit or Dallas is going to get blown out by a team, that game won't be on Thanksgiving.

Judging by this article and what Falcons CEO Rich McKay is saying it seems all red is the way they are going.

Favorite quote.

. “I have the uniform in my office. It’s certainly shocking but it will be interesting to see Matt Ryan and his legs in all red.”

When a front office member mentions how silly your quarterback's legs look in the uniform, it is not going to be a good uniform.

Selective reading. The article also said this:

"When speaking with the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Falcons CEO Rich McKay talked about the team potentially wearing all-red jerseys and pants. McKay said that the team will only wear the combination if they play a home game on a Thursday night."

The Falcons Thursday night game against the Bucaneers is in Tampa Bay so they won't be wearing the red.

It probably just depends on whether the Bucs wants to go all red again or if they want to go all-pewter. If they go pewter, doesn't that basically force the Falcons into all red? They won't do pewter vs. black.

They could go all-white, which is a new option for road Color Rush this year.

Besides red The falcons have Black, White, Silver, and Gold in their color pallet. McKay said we're not doing all black (Vick era), there's currently an all white in the rotation, and gold and pewter are to close. That leaves us with silver which beyond the outline on the current logo, we wore silver pants back in the 90's when we went to our only super bowl.

Gold is too close to pewter (which is debatable), but silver isn't?

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Those are two different uniforms. He was comparing them to these:

They also now have white pants from the color rush (which are actually identical to the navy/white fauxback)

Yeah, nope.

Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

I really can't see the other 31 teams having an extra merchandising opportunity, while Dan Snyder settles for none.  But, as a fan of the team, I'm glad they are staying away (if true).

Actually, that sounds so quintessentially Dan Snyder that I actually believe it. He's probably doing this to stick it to the NFL and cause them more of a headache, no matter if it's basically cutting off his own nose to spite his face.

You may be on to something considering that he is still pretty pissed about that bogus salary cap ruling from 4 years ago.  But on the flipside, the NFL has really defended him on the name issue.  Who knows?

I get the feeling Gothamite is gonna become physically ill.

He's not the only one.  And I'll have to watch that crappy looking uniform contest in person, rather than seeing a fantastic Packers-Bears uniform match up like it should be.

It's where I sit.
