CreamSoda
If new uniforms every 10 years or so means no ads on the jersey, I am cool with that.
ldconcepts
A lot of these points are valid. Here are my two cents: 1. There is no chance of the Adidas three stripes appearing anywhere on game-worn uniforms elsewhere than where the Reebok logo is currently placed. 2. I wasn't scared when the partnership was introduced, nor when the World Cup jerseys were introduced, but with the Devils rumour coming out, I now am. New Jersey has been the most stubborn team uniform-wise for years now. They didn't even have any type of unveiling for the Edge uniforms, they were so similar to the previous ones. Lou put his foot down on introducing a Stadium Series jersey, when no one else did. If these new uniforms are anything but throwback... 3. The no-alternate rule completely contrasts with earlier reports, but it is believable, and is all but confirmed on the mothership. This opens up the door for Minnesota to solve their uniform problem once and for all, or completely skewer the chance. 4. Edmonton has the nicest set in the league. Their primaries have a great historical background, and are classic, but their alternate is also nice. Would I want it to replace the blue jersey? Tough call. If they do go with it, it'll be because they want to bypass the losing era, and this is the perfect opportunity to do so. The worst thing for them to do would be to pull a Thrashers and keep the away jersey. If they swap out the home, they also need to swap out the away. 5. We haven't seen another collar used with an Adidas jersey, which is mildly frightening, but for now, I'm treating the World Cup jerseys like the first Reebok All Star uniforms. Hopefully this won't mess up Winter Classics, or untouchable teams like Montreal. 6. Just get rid of the templated messes already... Wow...I had about six seconds of hope between someone suggesting the Flames and hearing it will be the Oilers. The Oilers primaries should really be blue. And the Devils rumor is just crazy. I'd have predicted the Canadiens overhaul before the Devils. If we get a leak-free release, this site is going to break on that day. I still don't think this is going to be Reebok Edge bad...I hope the league learned from that. It did not go well with fans of many teams and even some players. I don't think it's going to be the giant disaster it was last time around. Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." Prince Harry
As an Oilers fan myself, I actually don't mind the idea of having the Orange as a primary. If Anaheim doesn't switch (and they might), we'll be the only western team to wear Orange as their primary. I'll probably miss the road whites more than the home blues, as I believe them to be the more attractive and much more underrated jersey in the set. Morgan33
You could tell the Oilers were planning to use orange full-time, long before this announcement, just look at the seats in their new arena and how many times the uniform has been used for promotional purposes. What fries me as that the league was finally beginning to look respectable again, after 9 years, and now we have to go through another league-wide-redesign. Adding insult to injury is the fact that Replica's will decrease in quality (again) while inexplicably becoming more expensive (again). Not to be overly negative, but this has "RBK Edge, 2007 disaster" written all over it. As for the Devils, I'm in shock. The team earned my respect when they refused to change their classic uniforms during the aforementioned Edge debacle. Not a single concept I've seen has improved their current set, which makes me wonder what they're actually planning to do. Are we going to see their current logo on a wonky template with the 3 Adidas stripes, or are we going to see a full overhaul? Maybe they'll replace their logo with a cartoon devil holding a pitchfork... Cause that would make as much sense as changing those uniforms. I guess three championships mean nothing. Terrible News! hormone
As a Miami hurricane fan, I've come to have a legit concern when becoming an adidas team. I think adidas is the worst of the major brands and they have to prove to me that they are capable of handling a whole league without some type of weird material, silver, chrome, and three stripes. That's just my .02. I know the wife of the pens reebok rep so I'll be stopping to see her for some scoop hopefully.
