I think if you took the original 6 logos and placed the original Sharks logo in the middle of the line up, it would not look out of place. The new one would however !

Why would one Sharks logo be any more out of place than the other? Both are stylistically different to any of the O6 teams. The Sharks logo is evidently a product of the 90's, much like all of the O6 logos are products of their respective times.

Will the Penguins new uniform for next season be the same as this season's 3rd jersey, anyone know ?

It's pretty much all but confirmed.

Because one is overly cartoonish and very aggressive.  The original sharks logo is more traditional and would definitely fit in better with an older mix of logos.

The old logo still features a shark chomping through a hockey stick. It's a very 90's cartoony concept to begin with.

Which one fits in better:

Neither. Again, it's a product of a different time and a concept that doesn't fit with the O6 teams at all.

However, losing the stick would bring the old logo a bit closer to that territory.

@Go Red Sox! made a wonderful concept to demonstrate the best way for the Sharks to shed the stick-choker:

I like how there's no black and orange, and only fantastic contrasting teal shades and silver.

Or just go with the original and much better San Jose Sharks logo...  If the stick bothers you so much take it out, but this is not a better logo in any stretch of the imagination.

It's a binary question.  Which ONE fits better.  The answer can't be neither.

It's pretty obvious the original logo fits in more with the original NHL logos.  Hell it is actually quite close to the Blackhawk logo.  Same black with white outlines, similar use of a geometric shape to help the design.

We're talking logos from the 1920's and 30's versus a concept conceived in 1991. It's pretty obvious that the Sharks logo does not fit in with logos from the dinosaur era of hockey. The answer is still neither.

Just because if doesn't "fit" with the O6 teams doesn't make one Sharks logo better or worse than the other. Again, I have no preference either way. One's a modern classic and the other is a solid update of the same thing.

What if you compare the current Blackhawks logo to the original Sharks logo, i think it would be hard for a non sports/logo expert to tell which logo is from 1965 and which one is from 1991. I think the Sharks did a good job creating a classic looking logo, in their first try no less !

Apparently this is rumored to be the Florida Panthers new logo, according to Paul Lukas.

Wow!

I actually really like that logo and the panther is rendered amazingly well.

Only problem, not sure I like it for the Florida Panthers NHL team...

Haha, ok.  The answer to a true/false question is "neither" too?

It's ok to admit the original Sharks logo fits in better.

Well,to be fair, they're voicing their opinion. If they don't feel that the original shark logo fits, that's fine. We ara allowed to have opinions and I respect your opinion, but don't try to force your opinion on anyone else.

The debate was if one shark logo fits in better than the other.  I posted the examples and the answer is one or the other.  He could have answered the new Shark.  But refusing to give an answer is weak.
