Saints will cut Brandon Browner when the new league year starts. If the Ravens clear some cap room, he might just be a perfect fit: he's a veteran corner that can probably at this point be a pretty good No. 2 or No. 3 corner in the NFL. What do the Ravens need? A No. 2 or No. 3 corner.

Raiders hosting the Texans in Mexico City on November 21

They should have scheduled this game for September so that the glorious Oakland Raiders would only be losing a baseball diamond game. The league is still out to get us.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

God, Skip Bayless is such a dip :censored:. Still my most hated ESPN personality by a wide margin.

As much as I hate Skip, he is just playing a part at this point of his career. He sold his soul to the devil to be a TV personality. That's why most the ESPN personalities are frauds. It's kind of like not liking an actor because of the part he plays in a movie or show. With this being said, I cannot stand the man.

Good for Lynch. One of my favorite players of this era. Hopefully he ends up coaching at Oakland Poly or something low key like that.

Maybe by doing it during the SB he was actually attracting less attention to himself since most of the world was focusing on the game?  Maybe he didn't want a moment, so this was the best way to do it.

Either way, that's the absolute perfect tweet.  Love the "peace" emoji.

I can't believe he thought there would be less focus on football during the Super Bowl.

This isn't quite Pete Rose-levels of "look at me!", but it's close.  It's a perfectly-composed tweet, just wish he had waited twelve hours to send it.

The guy doesn't want to answer questions or do media.  This seems like the best way to make a newsworthy announcement while simultaneously burrying it.

Not to make fun,  but I'm also able to follow and care about more than one sport story at a time.

Burying it?  When every single sports journalist in the country is looking for another NFL story to write?

Of course we can follow parallel stories.  That's not the point.  The point is that he's trying to steal a little focus from the men who had earned the right to play in the biggest game. At least, that's a reasonable interpretation of his action.

No biggie, just a bush move.  They happen.  I just thought him better than that.

I'm thinking the exact opposite of your "reasonable" interpretation of his action. He was absolutely burying it. If he was trying to get maximum exposure he wouldn't do it as the game was happening. He'd Brett Farve it, drag it out for weeks, hold a press conference, cry, etc. Doing it during the Super Bowl insures it won't be big news at the moment. He strikes me as the type of the guy who wouldn't pull a calculated move like that to "Steal glory" or any such nonsense.

Of course, there's no rule that says he has to do or say anything publicly. He could just not show up for training camp and have his agent let the team know.

During his senior year in college I compared [Manziel] to Brian Bosworth. Loud mouth, self-promoter, arrogant beyond belief, but otherwise decent college football player. That comparison worked for a while, but now he's full-on Ryan Leaf. Just doesn't understand the game at the professional level, has severe substance abuse problems, and a terrible stubborn attitude.

I've always loved when entitled :censored:s get their deserved comeuppance and I loved both times the Bengals humiliated him, but I'm taking no joy in this now. He's got real problems.

Whelp, now we have more visceral details of what happened between Manziel and his girlfriend.

This may be Manziel's end in the NFL.

Looking at ESPN's front page, the primary story is on the Super Bowl - specifically Cam Newton's struggles. The stories featured at the top are Riley Cooper being released, Delmon Young being a thug again, Johnny Manziel being a thug again, college basketball rankings, the Knicks firing their coach, and LeSean McCoy. You have to scroll down past literally a dozen videos and other stories, plus stories on the side (what an awful website), before you get to any mention of Lynch. He didn't steal attention from anything.
