Lawrence Taylor

Slapshot gets the win. Lawrence Taylor is correct.

I. Taylor played his entire career with the Giants - 5 SB appearances.

II. He is one of just two defensive players to be named NFL MVP.

III. I'm sure we all agree that Taylor was pretty good.

IV. Washington Head Coach Joe Gibbs developed the two TE offense with an H-back specifically to try to shut down Taylor.

A few more before kickoff...

Round XXV

I. The teams I played for have a combined total of 9 Super Bowl appearances.

II. infrared41 and I attended THE same college.

III. I played in Chicago - just not the Chicago you're thinking of.

IV. I am just the second player in NFL history to achieve this career statistic without missing a single start.

V.  George Benson was right.

Round XXVI

I. The teams I played for have a combined total of 8 Super Bowl appearances.

II. The team that drafted me had a pretty good draft that season. Four of those picks went on to be Hall of Famers.

III. I am the Super Bowl leader in two statistical categories.

IV. When you look at the numbers, I actually had a better career than my more celebrated counterpart. He was just better at playing politics.

Round XXVII

I. The teams I played for have a combined total of 13 Super Bowl appearances.

II. I was a member of the only team in NFL history to accomplish this.

III. Even though I won a Super Bowl with this team, I refuse to wear the ring. But that's okay, I have 5 other championship rings to choose from.

IV. By the time I picked up my final Super Bowl ring, the Super Bowl was becoming old hat. Hell, I'd played in 80% of them.

V. On the off chance someone might remember, I was the first ever "Who am I" answer.

XXVI is John Stallworth?

Cosmic with the win. John Stallworth is correct.

I. Stallworth played his entire career with the Steelers - 8 SB.

II. He was one of four future Hall of Famers drafted by the Steelers in 1974.

III. Stallworth is the Super Bowl career leader in YPC - 24.3 and Super Bowl single game leader in YPC - 40.3 in Super Bowl XIV.

IV. His career numbers are better than those of Steelers teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Lynn Swann. Swann ran for governor of Pennsylvania in 2006.

Herb Addereley it is.

I. Adderley played for the Packers - 5 SB and Cowboys - 8 SB.

II. He played for the Packers team that won three straight NFL Championships.

III. Adderley was a member of the Cowboys team that won Super Bowl VI, but he won't wear the ring saying "I'm the only man with a Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl ring who doesn't wear it. I'm a Green Bay Packer."

IV. He played in four of the first six Super Bowls.

V. If memory serves, Adderley was the answer to the very first Who am I.

You're about 50 years early.

It's the "not the Chicago you're thinking of" that threw me.  I was thinking Chi Cardinals.  Even knowing the answer I don't know what that clue means.

OnWis97 gets the final Who am I of the year. Eddie George is correct.

Also, I just realized I left out a very important clue. It would have been a lot easier if I hadn't left this out - I am probably one of the few NFL players to go from the gridiron to the Great White Way - no wonder it took so long to get an answer on this one. Had I included it, a simple NFL Player+Broadway Google search would have delivered the answer.

I. George played for the Oilers/Titans - 1 SB and Cowboys - 8 SB.

II. He attended college at Ohio State.

III. George is currently playing the role of Billy Flynn in the play "Chicago" on Broadway.

IV. He was the second RB to rush for 10,000 career yards without missing a start.

V. George Benson had a hit called "On Broadway." One of the lines is "they say the neon lights are bright on Broadway."

VI. Eddie George won the 1995 Heisman in one of the closest votes ever. He beat out Nebraska's Tommie Frazier by 264 votes.

VII. A reference to playing for the Oilers and Titans.
