Major League Football

Here's a tip:  if the question you are wondering is any form of 'will this new football league work?', the answer is no.  Fans have no interest in anything other than the NFL and its long-established minor league (aka NCAA).  I don't mean this as a slap against the CFL, so please don't imply one.

It's where I sit.

The obvious was announced this morning.

No 2016 season.

They disguise their lack of funds to pay for anything (travel for players to camp, stadium leases, et al) as, "an abbreviated season would put your safety and quality of play in danger."

Well, its flop will save us all from the cringeworthy acronym that will have some thinking about hot mothers...

(Edit: Bummed because @BrianLion definitely beat me to the joke.)

BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |

From the MLFB Facebook account:

Most interesting take away: all matte and all black face masks.

Yawn.

Riddell just gave them four samples. It's not like they own anything.

MLFB is broke, lied about two separate $120M investments or "letters of intent".  They say that there will be "developmental season" this summer...whatever that means.

I give them credit for NOT releasing any logos as HS coaches around the nation would've stolen them 30 days after their release.

So... any updates? Last update I saw was July 1st saying that the season has been pushed back to Spring 2017.

FWIW, the stock is at 4.5 cents/share and a new CEO was named two weeks ago. Since they are publicly held, a federally mandated quarterly report (Form 10-Q) is due soon if not past due as the last one went out on 3/16/2017.

They were evicted last year and have had no income to pay their debts for now years. Forms can be found and read a link like the one below.

Well, this is a surprise!

Sure - chasing the dream that they can find enough suckers to pay for the privilege of paying in a "league" about which nearly no one will care.  I'm not sure how that is a surprise (the fact that they're still trying to soak money from suckers, that is).

It's where I sit.

Here is a better look at all the logos

That Texas logo looks weird, especially with the cowboy having a chin strap on his hat. And Ohio... C'mon guys, that looks like a Pee Wee Football logo.

The start of these leagues usually seem to be shady. The UFL was the best try since the USFL, but if they could get a couple seasons in, work out a suitable relationship with the NFL, maybe they could stay. It's all about getting tape for guys who aren't in the league so players will always be available.

A regional system like currently exists in semipro football would be better but the span of control and teams is problematic. The NAFL was closest to this model.
