ninersdd
Giants actually comeback on the Nats and some guy named Braden Shipley beats the Dodgers. HedleyLamarr
So hard to believe a first place team might actually find a way to win a game at home! FiddySicks
Objectively, I'd rather live in Milwaukee than Cleveland, too. I kinda don't expect this to last for the Indians as well. It was only the second home game they've won since the All-Star break, and losing in the most ridiculous of ways. Their 6 game lead was down to 1 yesterday, despite the Dodgers not having Kershaw for weeks. Nobody's going to say, "well at least we're not the Braves!" Kramerica Industries
It's disappointing to see Andrew Miller get traded for a variety of reasons, but if you're getting a top-30 prospect in the sport for what is, ultimatelry, a relief pitcher (a really outstanding relief pitcher, but, nonetheless, a relief pitcher), along with another top-100 prospect as the headliners, well, you just have to do that deal when you're a .500 team not really contending for anything. That's just good business. It's speaks to what kind of sellers market there currently is, as well as how valuation has changed, that Andrew Miller fetched a bigger return than David Price did at the 2014 deadline. Speaks to how nuts it is, anyway.
Seadragon76
Today should be a great day... for the first time in 12 years, Seattle is in the Sunday Night slot. But, it's against the Cubs. So, I wonder... did Seattle earn this spot because they're in playoff contention or is this another example of ESPN sucking the Cubbie fans' collective schlong because they, must like the idiots from the North Side, want to curse to end? I fully understand the context of doubting your team's abilities and leaving games early. And it's not even August yet. A first-place team that's won three World Series in the last six seasons.....their fans are panicking with two months of season left. Spoiled brats, really. Bet these same jagoffs will say "Never doubted this team!!" come October.

Lucroy didn't veto the deal because he didn't want to live in Cleveland. What I heard is that he vetoed the deal because he wanted "guarantees" on playing time or something and the Indians wouldn't give him those guarantees. My understanding is that the Indians basically decided they didn't want a guy that had issues with being traded to a first place team or something. It's too bad. I think Lucroy would have been a great addition to the Indians.

2001mark
In baseball things that are nothing but are something... Tulo left the game today HBP... Donaldson moved from DH in the lineup to 3B, Barney moved from 3B to Tulo's vacant SS, & the Jays pinch hit for then forfeit DH spot in Tulo's spot in the batting order which became pitcher. I'd probably read/heard about that before, never while watching an actual game. Abandoning the DH makes the pitcher a batter in place. Jays were going 1 inning at a time with relievers all the same late, was of no consequence & none batted. @2001mark
CS85
Cubs win with a John Lester pinch-hit game winning suicide squeeze bunt. You read that right. edit: Hell it was a half-hearted squeeze at best. The bunt was perfect though, and Heyward read it wonderfully. Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board.
