At this point (yes, I know it's only April) anything short of their first NL Pennant in 71 years would be a total disappointment. Yeah, at this point (and also considering they now have a good run and playoff experience to follow up from last year), it's hard for me to not consider them the NL favorite, even this early. The Nats could be a problem if they stay consistent (a big could), but my gosh...a rotation you won't get a break easy from, and a lineup like that? I just can't say no to the Cubs. CS85
Nothing matters until the first round. When all it takes is losing 3 of 5 to reduce a magnificent 100+ win season to a footnote, all this is is the road. Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. Crabcake
Chris Colabello gets nailed for PEDs. 80 games. Ouch.

FGM13
Yeah we probably should've seen this coming. He got really good after being really bad, and he didn't have a big Jose Bautista leg kick added to his swing. The Six
The Giants avoid the sweep and lose to the Marlins. They looked so good in the first two series of the season, and came close to that for the first time since then. Something has to come together with that bullpen or else every close game's gonna be some TORTURE.
FiddySicks
Bases loaded with no outs in the 8th and zero to show for it didn't help, either. 2001mark
Welp, I hope this Colabello mini jolt is jolt enough for the Jays to get re-focused on winning. They seem like they're not afraid of losing right now which is not great. Smoak everyday at first is fine, even if his bat scuks, he's got a solid glove. Bat him 8th, who cares. @2001mark

Im hoping this means Edwin will get more time at 1B. Always preferred him as a 1B, rather than just DHing. Formerly known as DiePerske

I think more time yes, though not full time. It does help they're playing on dirt at home now. I've already begun a Devon Travis watch for myself, this lineup needs a leadoff batter. @2001mark

Sport
I got free tickets from a friend yesterday and didn't get there until the second inning when it was 5-0. Left after the 7th. Probably the worst game I've ever been to. Lotta Cubs fans in Cincinnati remembered they were Cubs fans this season and I actually like the Cubs and want them to win! But if you guys are gonna be dicks about being good then I'll knock that off real quick.

That came off as more sour grapes than I really meant it. I was really talking about a couple jerks in my section who behaved as if knocking around Alfredo Simon is an accomplishment on par with winning a playoff game. FinsUp1214
Adam Conley throws 7 2/3 innings of no hit ball and gets pulled by Mattingly. For this to happen twice this season altogether is weird; I didn't know what to think when Riberts pulled that kid for the Dodgers and don't really know what to think of it now. I get the whole pitch count thing and trying to ensure pitchers don't hurt themselves; I really do understand that. But at the same time...if I'm a manager, I want to see what the kid has in him and how he finishes. I want to give him a shot. If he's killed it this far, I'm gonna show my confidence in him that he'll finish it off. But then again, I'm not a manager. I dunno, it's just weird and a little jarring I guess. Once for sure, but especially twice.
2001mark
Dee Gordon was a very early fantasy pick of mine this season. I mean... as if. At least hot-spring-training-guy-with-hometown-media-coverage Michael Saunders is helping me a lot. @2001mark
rsaline
Didn't realize until tonight that Hanley Ramirez is the starting first baseman. Is his bat really that good that they're willing to put him there? He looks incredibly awkward on every play he had made.
