The Cubs has been playing down to their competition all year. They shouldn't have had to comeback like that against the M's, but they did in pretty awesome fashion.

In need of a win-streak now to put away the Cards for good!

I might be wary if I were a fan if the Cubs keep winning & stroll into the playoffs.  Thankfully my team is in the AL East grinder where life is pain to stay sharp.

Sharp teams.. 100-win teams.. Slumping teams entering October.. That's absolute nonsense.

I've seen enough postseasons to know, just make the playoffs and anything can happen.

Goodbye, Jay Bruce. This was the freaking best.

They hadn't made the playoffs in 15 years, it sort of felt like they never would, and then this happened. I can't think of a better way to clinch a division. It was just about perfect. Will never forget it. What happened after that isn't important.

As mentioned above, Jay Bruce is on the verge of leaving Cincy. Not mentioned is that he's going to the Mets.

Also, the Dodgers have acquired Josh Reddick and Rich Hill from Oakland.

Well, crap. It's gonna be a tall order to overtake the Dodgers for that first Wild Card.

I'm confused about where Bruce is supposed to play. They now have four corner OFs in Conforto, Cespedes, Granderson and Bruce, and while Cespedes is the best option in CF, he likes LF more than anything. The Mets are weird.

Hearing the move to get Reddick will also mark the end of Puig in LA. The White Sox (??) are showing interest in him.

This deal pissed me off at first, but the more details come out, the more it looks like the Dodgers up and mortgaged a chunk of their future again for two rentals who are oft injured and old.

But, if they now turn around trade Puig and Urias for Quintana or (gulp) Sale, I'm gonna flip a table.
