The Cavaliers' navy uniforms are an abomination. They're too navy/gold heavy and the limited amount of wine they use is for the numbers and stripes, which don't contrast well enough with the navy (even with the gold outlines in place). Burn them.

The rest of their uniforms aren't necessarily bad. I think they're pretty good in a vacuum, but not for the Cavaliers in their state. The elements in their logos don't match the ones in their uniforms. They have navy in their logos, but have none of it in their actual uniforms. They use an extremely modern script in their logo, but don't for their actual uniforms. Either modernize the uniforms to match with the logo or traditional-ize the logo to match with the uniforms.

This is why I really liked the 2003-2010 set. Everything felt like it matched. I don't know if this is true or not, but I feel like Dan Gilbert panicked at LeBron leaving Cleveland so he changed the uniforms too quickly to start the "post-LeBron era" and it resulted in what we have now.

The new Cavs uniforms were in the works before Lebron left the first time. I actually really like the whites, wine and gold options. The navy were great until they started wearing them all the time.

The Cavs current set ranges from completely boring, to complete and total garbage. The previous Cavs set was probably one of my favorite ever NBA uniform sets. Really bummed it's gone.

^completely agree as well. No set that has ever come from change for changes sake has ever been good. Most recent notable is a tie between D-Backs/Browns IMO.

Old Cavs set was beautiful. The blue alternate too. Man what a great set.

I may be in the minority but I think the 2000's are very underrated jersey-wise in the NBA. Even the last sixers set before the rwb return (the updated black gold red blue) was nice. Cavs, Nuggets, Mavs, Jazz, Clippers, Magic (early Dwight years), Kings (before this past set) all looked better then what they have now with exception to Kings with newest jerseys since I haven't seen them officially yet.

*ps if anyone knows how to change the username please let me know. I've been searching for a how to and can't find it anywhere and my name sucks. Thanks!

GO NETS.

I liked the LeBron V1 uniforms, but I don't think they were a grand slam.  The blue uniform really ruined it for me.  I liked what they were trying to do with the checkers, but the novelty and appeal wore off fast with them.  My major gripes were the neutered C in the Cavaliers script.  They should have used the C in the Cleveland script.  I didn't like the NOB or number fonts... those were very distracting.  I didn't like that the home jersey had navy and the away didn't.  All the colors did play really well together... but everything was just too dark and drab.  I just think they were a few tweaks away from being a great set.

As for the current set... I agree with the fonts.  Separate, all the fonts are very nice, from the rounded block font, to the script sort of C-sword logo.  I actually don't think the inconsistency between the fonts is THAT big of a deal, since the C is only on the uniform once or twice on the shorts.  I LOVE the updated wine and gold colors.  I think the white jersey is nice and blends the 3 main colors well.  But I absolutely love when teams can take 2-non-white colors and make uniforms pop.  Both the wine and gold uniforms utilize 2 colors and the uniforms look great, both up close and on TV.  But the blue.  Uhg the blue uniforms.  The blue uniforms remind of... some sort of hillbilly, freak show carnival thing.  I don't know why.  But they just don't look good.  There is no other way to describe it.  They don't look good.

Wine or gold, please. The blue jersey look like trash.

Leave it to Cleveland to wear white and blue every game in a series against a potentially legendary team who also wears white and blue. #ThatsSoCleveland

You Drinking Drain-o....blue unis are the best one in the set. The Maroon would be cool if they had some blue in it.

Wonder if theyll wear them at home

im guessing theyll go gold

I know teams play fast and loose with road alternates at home to spike jersey sales during the regular season, but when was the last time a team wore a dark uni at home and forced the opponent to wear white on the road in the playoffs?

(My guess is they'll go with the standard home white because they lost four of five road playoff games before dumping the navy tonight, so one loss probably wouldn't be enough to give on that set, but if the league is OK with the black at home, all bets are off.)

I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs wear the wine uniform at home.  Gilbert has a propensity to wear the wine CLEVELAND jersey when he's trying to prove a point.  I wouldn't be surprised if its a wine-out at the Q on Thursday.

How far in advance to the teams order the fan shirts? The black jersey seemed to be liked pretty well among fans on Twitter, and I'm sure a performance like that from the two star players would make them even more well liked. I hate to admit, but I'd be in favor of a blackout on Thursday.
