How did that happen? IT wasnt even on the Celtics when the NBA logo appeared on the front...

Bingo! That's why it looked so weird to me until it clicked that Thomas wasn't traded to Boston until halfway through 2014-15, which was the first season of the NBA logo being on the back. I don't know enough about the logistics of team equipment management to understand how that happened. Are names and numbers just heat-pressed on, like in soccer, or sewn on?

Yeah I agree. I liked the grey the best when I first saw it, but it kinda dulls out the whole set. I kinda wish they would've used their powder blue in place of grey.

So the Wizards finally lost a game on their road trip last night, and they were wearing their navy alts.  Call it superstition if you want (actually, I guess that's exactly what it is), but right from the start when I saw they were wearing their navy alts, I had a bad feeling, and the first quarter got off to a horrible start for them.  They just won four great games on the trip, all wearing their red primaries, the last two wins being in extremely dramatic fashion, and they decide on their last game of the trip to switch to navy?

The Wizards must be a lot less superstitious than I am.

Celtics in green against any yellow team will never not make me happy.

So the Jazz are intriguing me a bit. Tonight's game features a '97 team reunion to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their first Western Conference Championship. At first, they shared some pictures here and there of different players leading up to the event, but over the past couple of days they've gone so all-out with the era-specific colors and graphics that I'm really wondering if (well, more like hoping) they're going to surprise us with one-time throwbacks. I'm fuzzy on the uniform rules and maybe I'm just reading too deep into it but they seem to be doing a lot for even a team reunion.

They've changed the profile pic on both Facebook and Instagram to the '97 logo, and (the big kicker for me) posted a video with tonight's matchup featuring the '97 logo instead of the current:

Again, it may just be a whole lot of nostalgic excitement for the reunion/anniversary, and that's the extent of it. But to go so far as to use the '97 logo as a matchup logo instead of the current primary after already basically changing everything on social media to the old stuff over the last week just really makes me wonder (and hope) surprise throwbacks are in the works. I'd be ecstatic if it happened.

I would't be surprised if it was just the logo and no throwbacks... Last year, there were rumors that the Mets were gonna bring out the black jerseys for Mike Piazza Weekend since the Mets changed all their avatars to the 90s logo, but that never happened either.

Wasn't it last year (or the year before) that a bunch of teams were going to throwback to 90's uniforms -- including the Jazz? Wouldn't be surprised if they did -- wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

I loved that Utah color palette. It "screamed Utah" more than that stupid double blue that everyone said screamed Utah.

That's my opinion on the double blue as well. I never, ever liked it. The double blue screamed "generic cold-weather location" whereas the 90's palette was very, very Utah. Right down to even the copper. I still really miss it.

Kimball, I was thinking the same thing. I do remember seeing something about the Jazz having originally been in that throwback lineup. Seems like it was specifically the purple one that was lined up.

I liked the palette, but it was very dated. Muted a bit, I think it could work? Purple, light blue and copper. Eliminate the teal, black and white in the logo.

But, I really like the colors now. The navy blue (or whatever you want to call it) works well with the gold and green. I don't miss the purple as much as I thought I would when they switched back in 2010.

The switchover might limit it to two for the first year, then we go crazy with the alts.

Just hope if the Rockets are one of the rumored rebrands, the new jerseys are based off the Black alts.
