Which is basically going to lead to a Dallas Stars "coming out party" in the Western Conference Finals.

JOY.

Not so fast. Nashville likely has an instant bye into the West Final should they get the Sharks in the next round.

However, still not counting out the Kings in their series against San Jose. Spotting the Sharks two games is simply protocol for their opponents in the playoffs.

Don't know if I've said this yet or not, but I have the Kings in 7. Kings win all the games in San Jose, because the Sharks suck at home, and instead of San Jose winning game 7, they choke, and lose it... :D

As much as people think that the Kings can come back because they're playing the Sharks, I just don't see it happening. The team just looks off. They're lucky to have lost both games by 1 goal; 2 fluky goals for in game 1 and a net mouth scramble in game 2. Big players haven't been playing up to the level they should be playing at. On defense, only Doughty and Muzzin remain from the 2014 team (Martinez injured) and they've both been only average. They basically need to win both in SJ to even have a chance in this series. If they're down 3-1, the Sharks will close it out in 5.

Nashville is smothering the Ducks at every turn, beating them to the punch just about every time. Just thoroughly outplaying them. The Ducks are letting Nashville make the first move, and the Perds are running with it every time. Ducks just not responding to anything out there.

Plenty of work to go, but if the Ducks can't change the tune in Game 3, then there's no point in them coming home.

And that's why I think many people think the Kings can still come back in this series.

LA played some pretty terrible hockey in their first two games at Staples, yet they somehow managed to lose both games by just one goal. I feel if the Kings even put together an adequate road trip, they can come away with a couple wins in San Jose.

Obviously it would suck if the Sharks lost to the Kings tonight, but a win and it would be 3-0 Sharks, where you know the reverse sweep comments will start up.

That's why they play the games.

Okay, so the Blues decided to be very un-Bluesy and pull off a win in a game they probably should've lost. Regardless, the Hawks have been lights out in games 4-7 of playoff series the last few years and this series will not be the outlier.

LA played terrible hockey by being tied at the second period of game 1 and leading in possession for two of the three periods in Game 2?  I guess I'm not getting why people here seem to think it's such an impossibility that San Jose can win this series. They were neck and neck with the Kings and Ducks in the final weeks of the season and have made substantial improvements that have given them the ability to roll with four decent lines for the first time in a good while.

People might assume my anti-Blues slant is partisanship, but I've watched most of that series and I genuinely think the Hawks have outplayed them and the Blues are very lucky they aren't down 3-0. But in Kings/Sharks it's been way closer to an even split, with maybe a slight advantage going to San Jose overall in the first two games.

Anyhow, Beat L.A. and all that good stuff.

I'd place a pretty confident wager right now that one of the two LA-based teams is going to erase their 0-2 on-the-road deficit and win their respective series'. I'm leaning towards Anaheim if only because Nashville doesn't give the perception of being as good as San Jose, but that's obviously being very unfair to Nashville, for a few reasons. Specifically, the fact that they had a very good record this season in regulation decisions; 3-on-3 OT decimated their record more than anyone else in the league. Furthermore, their play took off after the Johansen trade that balanced their forward and defense units. They were one of the very best possession teams in the NHL this season. Their biggest weakness, as weird as it is to say, has been Pekka Rinne.

I'm going to be fascinated to see how LA bounces back tonight. Missing 1/3 of the defense unit isn't easy to overcome, because the McBain's and Scuderi's of the world are utterly terrible defensemen. Doughty and Muzzin can only do so much to prop them up.

Here come the Wild. From down 2-0 to tied 2-2 in this game.

They did this 2 years ago down 0-2 against the Central champ.

For all the crap we give Minnesota for being underachievers and playing lousy..... I'm not counting them out yet. They haven't lost against a non-Chicago team in the playoffs since 2008.

I don't care what you think of the actual calls in the games (here's looking at you, Ryan White), you can't give up 5 power play goals in an NHL game and expect to win, especially when some of that damage was inflicted by your own fans.

Flyers seem to have imploded after a good run to the playoffs.

Yah, well, ya know, don't wanna make too much noise. Some people are trying to watch the game.

Once again, the Kings are playing like ASS. Yet, the game is all square in the 3rd. San Jose should be putting this series away by now...

Must be those thick waist stripes weighing them down...  The Sharks did everything but score in that final stretch there.  I take back every complaint I had about them meeting in the postseason once again.  This is going to be good B).

So, I turned the game on near the start of overtime, said "Hey, that new teal set actually looks pretty good in action", and then they do that. Sweet.
