Unocal
Nashville's not even an interesting Cinderella like the 2006 Oilers or the Habs/Flyers of 2010. They are the Syracuse of the Stanley Cup playoff bracket- lowest seed, not fun to get behind. Those of you who hate Perry/Getzlaf- I give you Neil and Riberiro. oddball
I didn't watch the game and checked it on NHL.com, honestly figuring the Ducks would've won. There was no way this could continue, but oh no. It seems to now be a tradition. This is four straight years the Ducks have held a 3-2 and lost games 6 and 7. Stats for Perry in those 8 games, 2-2-4 and Getzlaf is 0-3-3. Neither has scored when it meant anything. I'm sorry Duck fans, but the truth is that neither Perry or Getzlaf are big game players.

Unocal
Shame on you, Ducks. Nashville is the fly in the ointment that is the 2nd round. Seriously, give me THREE good reasons why I should give a crap about the Preds?

If this is how you all felt, I am terribly sorry. Rooting for a group of choking dogs... It's... It's awful. Just... Just... ing damn it. How? How do they come out this way? They know their history. They know the stakes. They know how close they were a year ago. How well they played this season. And to come out with that? I just... ing hell... I hope the Sharks shove a stick so far up James Neal's ass that it comes out of his mouth. ... As a Sharks fan, I say, don't worry about it. I feel for the Ducks same way I felt for the Clips last night. I'd much rather beat them on the court/ice. I'm genuinely sorry y'all have to deal with this crap, because it's just that. Crap. Sports are are supposed to be a pleasant distraction from the real world, right? Sometimes, it sure doesn't feel that way. Unocal
I'm just really annoyed Sharks/Ducks, like Rangers/Islanders, was too good to be true. I mean, god forbid I root for a series with juice to it. Nashville/San Jose just doesn't have it.
wildwing64
Same old Ducks. Same old Game 6 losing, deflated, Game 7 farting Ducks. And of all the teams to lose to it had to be Nashville again. Ugh. This team needs some heavy retooling. Don't know if it's Getzlaf or Boudreau or whoever, but somebody's gotta go. This crap can't continue year after year. JayMac
I'm happy for Nashville. It looks like I'm rooting for the Western conference. I guess I could root for the Islanders to get out of the East.

It's funny- everytime I like the Preds (2004-2006-2007-last year) they let me down in the first round. I didn't buy into them this year or 2011, they win a series. With all due respect to the Wild of 2015 and 2016, this is a Wild Card Cinderella team that you can actually think could make another round. Nobody responded to this so you come back with this: 6 hours ago, SabresRule7361 said: Pekka Rinne and a bunch of guys I've never heard of. Thanks, Ducks. monkeypower
I guess I just can't take the Ducks seriously in the playoffs. Call me whatever you whatever kind of fan you want, but didn't have any confidence going into the game and I stopped really paying attention after Nashville scored the second goal. I get the notifications on my phone and would periodically check on the NHL website but I just knew at that point, you know?

OUCH. 2013: Detroit 2014: Los Angeles 2015: Chicago 2016: Nashville Just gonna throw this out there. I'm no hockey expert, but I'm guessing the Ducks roster has seen some turnover each season between 2012-13 and this season. What's the one constant with the Ducks in the past four seasons? It ain't the players, it's the coach who has a record of 1-7 in Game 7s. Normally, I'm not one to lay all the blame for a team's failure on it's coach, but not only has this Boudreau coached team lost 4 straight game 7s at home, it's lost them in remarkably similar fashion. Road team goes up early, Ducks deflate, game over. Rinse, repeat. Anyway, once the Perds were up 2-0 last night, all they needed to do was play "it's not the trap, but it's pretty much the trap" hockey the rest of the way and have a skate around with a totally deflated Ducks team. monkeypower
Getzlaf, Perry, Cogliano and Fowler are the only players to have played in all four game 7's.
wildwing64
Guess it won't be terribly shocking if Bruce is given the sack. Though I'd be less surprised if the Ducks kept him for another year. PotD: 24/08/2017

Sport
The Ducks have given up 2 goals in each first period of those 4 game 7's, which is pretty telling. I watched the first period and I couldn't believe how flat and out of sync they looked. Speaking of juice, there was no juice on the Anaheim side last night. And they live in Orange County. Ironic. If something happens 4 times in a row it becomes your thing and this is now their thing. The Sharks thing was dominant regular seasons, early playoff exits, same with Washington. Once you get that reputation it's really hard to get the monkey off your back because now not only are you playing your opponent, but you're dealing with a mental complex that they don't have to deal with. Confidence is 50% of hockey.

The only difference is it wasn't "their team" in 2007. Getzlaf was just coming into his own and Perry was still just a rookie or sophomore in the league. This Ducks team that has choked four years straight, THAT is "their team".
