FiddySicks Posted April 24, 2016 Share Posted April 24, 2016 So, I'm not a really big "Concept" guy (mainly because I have very little talent when it comes to graphic design), but NBA 2K16 has a pretty solid team editor, so I've been having quite a bit of fun with that lately. With the Kings recent leak, I decided to have a bit of fun with it, and figured I'd show you guys what I came up with! BTW, The editor is pretty "templated" so it leaves just a few limitations, but it's not too bad. Also, rosters are a bit screwy, and I just kinda randomly decided to add powder blue to the set just to see how it looked. I also prefer the kings in purple road jerseys over black, but that's just a personal preference. I would love to see the Kings go with purple and silver as dominant colors, powder blue as an accent, and black gone completely. But don't take that as criticism cause I think your concept is dope! Whittier S Posted April 24, 2016 Share Posted April 24, 2016 The blue-and-purple color scheme is a great past-meets-present palette that would suit the logo set well. FiddySicks Posted April 24, 2016 Author Share Posted April 24, 2016 Yeah, I can see why the crown is a little bit divisive, and I sort of expected that lol. It actually came about by accident. I was originally going to shrink it and just put it above the names, but when I moved it to the back, I noticed that it could be used as a decent nameplate. I kinda like "out there" stuff like that because it gives it a unique flair that is lacking a bit in most NBA jerseys IMO. And yeah, I'm not too sold on the silver, either. I wanted to keep it because that's probably my favorite part of the current Kings uniforms, but I'm just not sure the new logos are complex enough to keep it. It feels a bit shoehorned into the concept to me. I'll probably post a few more this afternoon. FiddySicks Posted April 26, 2016 Author Share Posted April 26, 2016 Now that we've (apparently) seen the color coordination and know that black is out, I did a bit of an update. It kinda gives a bit of a K State vibe to me, which I think is good. I decided to use the "SAC" wordmark on the road for two reasons 1) With that alt logo, I genuinely think they're planning on using that on the road jerseys. Unless they just go full out "KINGS" on both. 2) I couldn't get a really clean version of that full "Sacramento" word mark on the logo, and it just feels too long and narrow anyway. I missed the basketball on the lion logo on the front. It's still blue, but should be silver. Consider that a nice tribute to the old colors Also, I went silver dominant on the shoulder and neck piping, but I think I may end up changing that. I'll add the court a bit later.
