Houston, Texas reporting.

1. Texans - Right now its about 60% team/40% being in the NFL again.

2. Cowboys - And it's effing annoying.

3. Texas Longhorns/College Station Aggies

4. Saints - obvious reasons.

5. Houston Cougars - last year helped.

6. Astros/Rockets - last year's run for the 'Stros moved them up.

7. Dynamo - Not doing so well right now.

8. High School football.

9. TSU Tigers/Prairie View Panthers - less the football and more of the bands.

10. Dash - Hi Carli.

11. ALL THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

12. Luv 'Ya Blue - mainly the guys who stayed loyal to H-Town instead of that zombie SOB.

13. ALL THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL.

This is going to be interesting because I grew up during the 90's & 00's in the biggest market in the US (NYC Metro Area) and moved to a much younger (as far as pro sports go) and smaller city.

In Orange County, NY where I grew up, I would say it went like this:

1.Yankees (Barely over #2)

2. Giants

3. Mets

4. Jets

5. Rangers

6. Devils

7. Cowboys

8. Syracuse (Both Football & Basketball)

9. Eagles

10. NASCAR ( I include it as a sport as a whole because it was hard to say who was most popular, but I would say 1. Earnhardt Sr. , 2. Gordon, 3. Tony Stewart)

Now as far as the area I moved to it's hard to say outside of the top 5 because it's such a melting pot down here. Lots of people from the Midwest and Northeast.

1.Carolina Panthers

2. UNC Tarheels

3. Charlotte Hornets

4. NASCAR

5. Steelers (Tons of fans down here, I heard it was because of some stations that aired Steelers/Reds games down here in the 70's & Early 80's)

6. Braves

7.Yankees (Lots of transplants from NY down here, myself included)

8.Charlotte Knights

9.Football/Soccer/Futbol (I include these as a whole because there seems to be no clear split here. I myself am an Arsenal fan in the Premier League, Bayern Munich in Bundesliga, the German national team, the US national team, and the NY Red Bulls)

10. Duke/Wake Forrest/NC State/UNCC/Clemson/SC (There seems to be equal split between all these college programs down here)

Sudbury is nearly an even split (about 49-49) between Habs fans and Leafs fans, with the odd sprinkling of fans of other NHL teams. But we all get together behind the hometown Wolves, even in their worst of seasons.

Similar for Thunder Bay.

Leafs and Habs fans easily dwarf any others - I blame the old CBC and hereditary fandom.

Small minority supporting whatever team the Staal brothers and any other local players are playing on.

MLB is Jays by a landslide

I'm in Southern Ohio, about two hours from Cincinnati, four from Cleveland, and one from Columbus.

NBA: Cavs, by far.

NFL: Browns, then Steelers, then Bengals. That's annoying.

MLB: Pretty even split between Reds and Indians.

NHL: Hardly anyone follows hockey that I know of. The only hockey fans I know are CBJ fans. Naturally, they're miserable.

College: Ohio State, then Meatchicken.

NASCAR: Dale Earnhardt Jr. seems pretty popular in these parts. (I'm not a NASCAR guy at all.)

Soccer: Ghey. (Seriously, though, there are a few Crew fans.)

Being from the hampton roads area

NFL:NFC East, Packers, Patriots

NBA: Heat, Thunder(now warriors fans cuz of KD) Cavs(Bandwagoners)

NHL:Capitals, Bruins, Penguins.

MLB:Nationals, Yankees, Red Sox

I'd imagine that, with the affiliation and all, the Orioles would at lest scratch the surface.

Vancouver

1. Canucks

2. Seahawks

3a. BC Lions

3b. White Caps

5. Blue Jays

6. Vancouver Canadians

7. Vancouver Giants

Canucks have a substantial hold on the Vancouver sports market.

Pretty tight between the Leos and Caps, and the Canadians and Giants.

Lots of Maple Leafs, Canadiens, Patriots, and Mariners fans mixed in as well.

5. Giants (lots of Giants fans lurking around NE

Well, figure that Boston was out of football between the Redskins and Patriots, and then the Patriots were Touchdown Phoenix Coyotes for the first 35 years of their existence, plus the Giants farted around in New Haven for a couple years, guess it's not ridiculous that old New Englanders who cared about football wound up with New York and passed the allegiance down.

I have a hard time believing that the Yankees and Giants would be more popular than the Celtics in Boston.

When they talk about them, it isn't in a good way most of the time.

Boston fans are critical of their teams. It's what we do, it doesn't mean there are less Celtics fans than there are any New York team. While the Celtics might not have many die hards like the other big 4, you'd be a fool to think there are more fans of any New York team than there are Celtics fans.
