DnBronc
Another Deadspin-inspired thread. Although, instead of just NFL picks, it can be picks in any sport. For me, I would go back to the 2000 draft and have the Pats draft Tim Rattay in the sixth round instead of Tom Brady. As a result of that, the 49ers draft Brady in the 7th round (where they drafted Rattay in reality) because he is a local prospect (they can save money on transportation) and because he loved them growing up. How would that turn out? Well, Brady would have become the second-stringer his first year, but he would ride the bench for the majority of his first four seasons before becoming starter in 2004 after Garcia went to Cleveland. Brady would get them to 5-11 (SF was 2-14 in 04 in reality), but it wouldn't be enough to save Dennis Erickson's job. Mike Nolan and Mike McCarthy still come in to be the HC and OC. And, since new regimes usually mean new QB's, the 49ers (picking 6th in this reality) trade their first-rounder to the Chargers for Drew Brees and the 13th overall pick. The Chargers draft USC WR Mike Williams, and the 49ers draft Oklahoma OT Jammal Brown. Brees immediately becomes the starter, and Brady demands a trade. In 2006, he is traded to Kansas City for a third-round draft pick. He backs up Trent Green for one year, and then becomes the starter in 2007. He has a respectable career, but nowhere near what his real career is like.
OnWis97
As a Timberwolves fan, the first thing that came to mind was the T-Wolves drafting two point guards with the two picks right before Steph Curry. Hard to argue with that. Draft Curry instead of Jonny Flynn. Then there's the North Stars pick of Brian Lawton in 1983 over tons of good players (LaFontaine, Barrasso, Neely), but give me Steve Yzerman. Would it have saved the franchise? Maybe not, but I'd like to find out. Dynasty
2013 NFL Draft; Miami takes someone that isn't named Dion Jordan. Honestly, they could've taken anyone and it would've been an improvement over a future (and now) bust.

mcj882000
At the 1990 NHL Draft, my Flames swapped 1st round picks with the Devils - Calgary traded up to pick Trevor Kidd, New Jersey traded down to get Martin Brodeur. The Flames have a long history of blowing their 1st round picks, but I think that'd be the one I'd undo.

Actually, as an Angels' fan who grew up going to and watching O's games, I'd love it if they had someone like Trout. As for me, pick a WR not named Calvin Johnson that Matt Millen drafted.
