Steel grey = Strength, durability Gold = Nevada produces gold Red = Skyline, Red Rock canyons, "readiness to serve" Black = Power, intensity

Knights players are going to be required  to sign with the National Guard, aren't they.  Not a US citizen?  That's not Foley's problem.

The new sweaters should definitely be grey. That's why they'll be black.

This whole thing blows. Padres were somehow the less disappointing reveal today.

The Jets unveiling their look at a RCAF base was a bit much, but at least TNSE paid the air force for the roundel logo. And didn't pretend their players were actual RCAF airmen.

Steel grey = that armored mesh

Gold = it makes sense

Red = that red rock color

Black = a lot of teams have it

At least we had low expectations for the Vegas reveal. Everyone thought it was going to be brown and yellow for the Padres and were disappointed (myself included).

Just 'Vegas' as the geographic identifier = fail. Nickname is whatever. Better than Desert Knights, at least.

The primary logo is fine, wish it didn't have a black shield behind it though. It looks completely out of place next to the other NHL logos on the mothership. But that secondary is just bizarre. It doesn't even look like it's part of the same set. Why did they feel the need to crowbar white and red in there?

The expansion draft is also an army draft.

How do we know the stripes and vegas script aren't just a generic thing done for every teams banners?

You are correct. It's the design of the banner.

The home jersey color is the top and bottom stripe, so the home jersey should be slate grey with this logic.

And Jets was a name that almost everyone in Winnipeg wanted.  This is a name most in Las Vegas DIDN'T.

Any & all excitement of an NHL team being born in one of the most exciting cities in the western world, & they deliver the absolute dull as dirt logo to vaporize it.

I'm not saying the logo is bad, it's mediocre.  I'm just saying they should've capitalized on Las Vegas' populist lore, instead of rock formations & military jargon as identities.

I don't know... I'm not much of a "fix it" guy, but that "steel grey" was throwing me for a loop, so I wanted to see if the logo would be better with a different color instead:

But after changing the colors around, I realized that I think it's the construction of the shadows that is throwing me off.  The white highlights reach the very edge of the helmet, while the shadows are constrained from reaching it. I think that's what's bothering me.

I admit that I love the name Knights. I know it wasn't Las Vegas' first choice, but I admit that I'm happy to see the name get representation in the big four.

"Golden Knights" is just...I don't want to say it's bad because it's not. Not really. It just lacks a certain flare "Desert Knights" had. Which seemed to be the preferred choice among the LV fanbase once it came down to the three finalists.
