You gotta think that now that the Bulls got Robin Lopez, Joakim Noah has to be definitely on the trade block.  I know Noah was hurt most of this past season and was relegated to the bench to start the season, but Mirotic basically made him expendable.

No trade as Noah is unrestricted.

It's not a bad move for the Knicks...they're not going anywhere this year and he's only got 1 year left on his deal. Very low risk.

At least the whole Derrick Rose saga in New York will add intrigue to the Knicks this season.

Sad thing is that the Bulls traded Rose in part because, in their own words, they wanted to get younger.  Rose is 27.

Yeah, I forgot about that...either way, I think he's good as gone from Chicago.

Thibs is probably gonna to convince Noah to join him in Minnesota. Just got through watching that trade special on CSN Chicago and heard one of the Bulls media saying that the Bulls should try and see what can they get for Mirotic, McDermott and try to revisit that trade talks they had with Toronto for Gibson.

They wanted to get younger and built around the Hoiberg's system and Jimmy Bulter, they really weren't interested in trading him.

Who do they have besides Melo and Porzingis? No FA's will go there. They're going to be worse than last year.

I never said they were going to be good. I've given up on having expectations for the Knicks a while ago.

I just said that having Rose on the team was going to make things more interesting to watch just to see how Rose will do in a Knicks uniform.

I wasn't reacting to your post, just making a general statement.

Melo

Rose

Porzingus

Dwight Howard(?)

I don't see Rose making much of an impact, especially on a team with Melo still taking 99% of the shots. People still think the guy from five years ago still exists, but haha, that was five years ago. It's too bad, but the guy who was league MVP is never coming back.

And Carmelo + Howard would be a total trainwreck. Not winners. No leadership whatsoever. Would probably miss the playoffs altogether. -- That being said, I hope the Knicks do it.

I'm not surprised that Rose got traded, but it stuns me he got dealt for Robin Lopez. Thinking back to after that first year he was in Chicago, who would've ever thought that a former #1 overall pick and MVP would get dealt for a member of the NBA's version of the Hanson Brothers?

I think Noah would be good to go alongside Wiggins, Towns, and LaVine, just so long as Thibs doesn't run those guys into the ground.  Minnesota is kinda on that cusp of being competitive again, and certainly Flip Saunders (God rest his soul) left them in a good spot for the future.  It's hard to call it, as far as seeing if they're a playoff team or not...I want to see how free agency plays out first.

I always kinda saw Lopez as one of the Sideshow brothers from The Simpsons. :upside:

Take out Howard and replace him with Noah going back home.

The Knicks can still create a roster which can make the playoffs since it IS the East.

Charlotte will likely lose Batum, Lin, Jefferson and Lee.

ATL is going in a new direction, trading Teague and Horford/Bazrmore are UFA.

WAS have decide on Beal and a lineup around Wall.

I wouldn't have guessed the Bulls would have fired one of the best coaches in the league for not being polite enough to John Paxson, but they did that, too. It's amazing what a hash Bulls management has made of everything over the last five years. I suppose the upside to losing Rose, Noah, and Gasol in all likelihood is that the Bulls are going to be garbage and I won't have to keep too much of an eye on them. At least now Bulls games will have a reason to be the joyless, somber affairs that they are.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Funny I just had a conversation about this with my brother and we both agreed on that. If this doesn't get GarPax fire the incoming years I don't know what will.
