Soccer concepts

Recommended Posts

I have had a little break from doing these but have started up again recently.

As we know manufacturers now use 1 or 2 templates and adjust to each team. Bearing that in mind my new 'project' is to design 2 or 3 for each brand and then post team concepts using these templates. I've also tried to stay true to the brand itself, so for example, making Adidas templates that look 'Adidasy'!

First template is Adidas so here they are. 3 different templates, 3 concepts to start and then a few more before I move on to the next brand.

Germany (away jersey might be a bit controversial but I wanted something a bit different)

@Turkleton, yes brands have templates but that does not mean they use the same design over and over again for each team, I know its a concept but I don't think you have a real understanding of what kit designers do. So far you have posted kits for Man U, Japan, Germany, and marseille and given them all the same designs but changed the colors, the thing is in real life none of those teams got even close to similar designs. Yes nike is most known for giving teams the same template with different colors and of course bigger teams tend to get more unique designs but you have to realize that not all kit makers give the same design to different teams and on the flip side they can't always make unique designs for every team. Giving each team the same design and re-coloring them in a concept is not creative, its lazy and un-inventive

While I can concede that I may have had a swing and a miss episode here, saying I have no understanding of it is unnecessary and untrue. See my previous threads if you need to see that I actually DO know what it's all about.

I'm always open to constructive criticism but your comments aren't helpful at all. I don't find it realistic that adidas would do away with the 3 stripes but none of your adidas concepts have them at all. You also had a pop at Berlin Wall about counting the money in his Future EPL thread....It's about concepts, not financial standing.

I will re work these as I can admit when I've not nailed it, and if your next comment is constructive then I'm all ears, otherwise, concentrate on your own work.

For my template, which is realistic, you have to realize that looking straight at the new Adidas jersey with the stripes on the side you are not able to see the stripes both in real life and on the template, I have explained that before. If you look at the Germany kit that I posted above you can see what I mean, that's why in most pictures Adidas have the models turn slightly which is more like the picture for Marseilles. I didn't do away with the 3 stripes.

And ok maybe saying you don't understand design wasn't the best thing to type, but when you type that you think ,"As we know manufacturers now use 1 or 2 templates and adjust to each team." then maybe you do have a little misconception about kit manufacturers. It's an opinion that I gave. I know it's not necessarily fact, I just think you need to work better.

But it's a concept board where you can easily bring a stripe and a half forward to be visible, people would realize what you were attempting to show.

Maybe you misunderstood what I meant. The basic template on the majority of kits are the same; the design ELEMENTS are different. I have also admitted I can improve and change my designs which I am working on now, but you have no high ground from which to shout. Neither of us work for NIke/adidas/Puma....

And if you want to keep to being realistic, International teams very rarely have a 3rd choice kit...

Again, nothing you offer is constructive, so don't offer it.

Yes, international teams don't have a lot of third kits but that doesn't mean they haven't had third kits, will have third kits in the future and it doesn't mean it's not realistic. It's completely realistic for international teams to have three kits.

again like I said it's an opinion and also suggesting you need to work more and do more research and take more time on stuff is constructive criticism

Your updated designs look good, especially Marseille home and the Japanese kits. On the Japan home kit, I think making the Adidas logo white would make it better. I also liked your old Germany home kit and Man United home kit more.

You're improving, keep it up :)

Your updates are much better! I like the unique elements on each jersey, especially the sunrise on Japan. Great updates, keep on improving!

Honestly, I think you are well within your right to do what you wanted to originally, @Turkleton. Your assessment in the first post about kit templates is correct, and it is interesting to see you design a new template and give examples that work for multiple teams, club and international. Nike and Adidas do this all the time... do we honestly think Dag & Red, Freamunde, and Ponferradina get personal kit designers? Teamwear is offered every year, and that's probably a better way to phrase it, that these are teamwear concepts. It's not something that's done here often (or ever)... no need to stick to the status quo.
