Truthfully, AD Pete Garcia will botch this next hire as well. Watch him dig up the corpse of someone like Ron Zook, Turner Gill, or Ty WIllingham next. He never should've fired Cristobal. I think Cristobal's issues were away from the field rather than on it. I wonder if he'd consider coming back to FIU though he'd probably be in line for a much better job after the season ends.
Sport 13,776 Posted September 26, 2016 If I was Les Miles I would go the Frank Solich route. Find a nice quiet college town in the MAC or Sunbelt where you're a legend if you go 9-3 and make a bowl game.

After losing by 74 points to Memphis, I'm sure Bowling Green would welcome him with open arms.

DScruggy729 358 Posted October 1, 2016 Not sure if Stanford is just laying an egg or Washington is THAT good. Probably a mix of both, Stanford's offense probably relies a bit too much on McCaffrey, and their passing game has been lackluster all night. Looking at their schedule, Washington could probably pull of an 11-1 of even 12-0 season a lot easier than I initially thought. With Stanford out of the way, I don't know there is a PAC-12 team on their schedule that can knock them off? They'll probably trip up somewhere, but the South is a bit of a mess at this point (not sure about Utah and ASU) but a win over Stanford will pay dividends.
dfwabel 4,155 Posted October 1, 2016 Washington is riding "The Tess Effect" tonight. Joe Tessitore called games are consistently bizarre.
FiddySicks 11,050 Posted October 1, 2016 U Dub is probably going to drop stupid games to ASU and, like, the Apple Cup. Not because either of those teams are as good as Washngton, but because that's seemingly always how the PAC 12 goes.

Utah may be the "body blow" game which may soften them up for Cal's offense the following Saturday with a possible second loss.

I think it's probably a combination of both. I think that Stanford is certainly not that bad, and Udub had a good night. Don't forget it was a sellout home crowd, that always makes it easier to play these tough games. @Oregon, @Utah, and @Wazzu are the most likely losses for the Huskies. Oregon comes next week, and if the Huskies celebrate too much, it would be easy for a letdown on the road against the Ducks. Utah is a good team, and it's tough to come out of Salt Lake City with a win. Wazzu is, well...Wazzu. You never know which team will show up- a JC softball team or the team that beat Oregon last year and gave Stanford all they could handle. The Apple Cup is in Pullman this year, so that will be a very interesting game.
Wings 2,142 Posted October 1, 2016 IIRC ESPN's College Football Magazine had Washington favored percentage wise in all 12 games.
JayMac 3,668 Posted October 1, 2016 Wow. A major thrashing of Stanford for Washington. I thought Washington would win but never thought in that fashion. I have one minor gripe about College Gameday, as it's the only ESPN show I watch. Too much country music. The theme song is country and most celebrity pickers are country singers. I know college football is very much a southern dominated sport but some of us college football lovers are not country music fans.

JayMac 3,668 Posted October 1, 2016 Big XII is pathetic. Do most of the teams even try to play defense?
DScruggy729 358 Posted October 1, 2016 Really not too impressed with Miami, they're up, but mainly due to Georgia Tech being dumb with the football. Miami seems to get this hype train every year after they beat a bunch of cupcakes, but really they're just the same Canes of the past 10 or so years. By the way, if you want to see a complete cluster:censored: in motion, make sure to keep tabs on the ACC Coastal division this year folks.

Miami handled their business as next Saturday is where their season matters...at home vs. FSU. That game was a 6-day hold, so if the Seminoles beat UNC, we'll get a night game at the Hard Rock.
