Clemson and now Washington?  I am really lamenting that Wisconsin loss to OSU.

Every football season, there's that one Saturday/weekend where everything gets shaken up.  Welcome to "that" Saturday, folks.

#9 Auburn falls to Georgia.

#2 Clemson falls, at home, to Pitt.

#4 Washington falls, at home, to USC.

#3 Michigan is in a dog fight with Iowa.

#6 Louisville took way too long to dispose of Wake Forest.

EDIT: Down goes Michigan.  Door opens wide for any team in the top 12.

#8 Texas A&M (at least, what's left of them) falls at home to what's left of Ole Miss.

Michigan losing is terrible news for Ohio State as well. (Wow, what a sentence.)

Ohio State can finish with 1-loss and miss out on the B1G Championship Game thanks to Penn State also likely being a 1-loss conference team with the tiebreaker. And the protocol kinda has been established that playoff teams come from winning their conference's championship game...we're not about to see this Penn State team as a possible playoff team, are we?

Ohio State, and Louisville for that matter, are quite likely two of the top-four teams, but there's no road for them to the playoff for either as things currently stand. Then again...days like today do show, again, that anything can happen still.

I kinda hate these particular weekends. It usually ends up pushing the same status-quo teams back into the picture.

Not like it really really matters this year, though. It's gonna be Alabama again and there really hasn't been any intrigue regarding that all season. Only this time instead of them steamrolling a groan inducing Notre Dame team, there's a risk the sacrificial lambs this time around could be Penn freaking State.

I'd say the new Top 4 will be:

1. Alabama

2. Ohio State

3. Louisville

4. Wisconsin

As for the two teams on the outside, I'd say #5, with the big jump, is currently ranked #10 Penn State. #6 is a toss up and will probably be one of the top teams that lost today.

It is hard to rank Wisconsin above Michigan when they have 1 extra loss including head-to-head.

Not exactly. Colorado will climb. At long last, my (dis)interest in CFB is peaking.

Louisville has only themselves to blame.  They have as good a loss as you can have but have tried to sleep walk through games vs Duke, Virginia, and for one half vs Wake Forest.

With the crazy year we've had in sports & politics I wouldn't all be surprised if Penn State fell ass backwards into the playoff.

Considering how this year has gone, watch them win it all. Talk about an absolute MELTDOWN that would cause. I'd almost rather see Trump win.

Maybe I'm just being an Ohio state homer, but that's not how I see it at all. After Tuesday, OSU is likely to be number two.  If they win out, they'll be a one loss team, with a final season win against a top ten michigan. even without the conference championship, I can't see the committee picking a two loss team over them.  Remember, they've said all along, their only true criteria is best four teams.

Plus, don't be naive about what that OSU name and money will do.
