I’m still not a huge fan of this, given we don’t have to go too far back to find that 8-5 Wisconsin team that won the Big Ten. That was aided by Ohio State and Penn State being ineligible for the postseason, sure, but I’d rather not see even most 9-3 teams that make their way to conference title games have an automatic in. MJWalker45
I hope he gets cancer just for being a giant douche. Those two field goal misses didn't cost us the game. Failing to catch, hold, block or throw to the right color uniform did. Weber might have to use Stickum next year.
DS729
Yeah because 2 missed field goals made a HUGE difference in a game where you lost 31-0. Stay classy, Buckeye nation.
dfwabel
Two ratings press releases. 1-http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2017/01/college-football-playoff-semifinals-ratings-double-digits-games-see-overnight-increases-set-streaming-records/ Quote Together, the semifinals averaged an 11.0 overnight (ESPN and ESPN2), up 11% from last year’s semifinals on the same two networks. On ESPN alone, the doubleheader averaged a 10.4 overnight, up 6% from last year’s doubleheader (9.8). The streaming average minute audience for the two games averaged 440,000 viewers, up 41% from last year (313,000 viewers). 2-http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2017/01/college-football-playoff-semifinals-average-nearly-20-million-viewers-deliver-double-digit-total-live-audience-growth-increases-tv-audience-games/ Quote The College Football Playoff Semifinals (December 31, 2016 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.) delivered double-digit total live audience (TV + streaming) growth and increased its television audience in both games compared to last season’s semifinals. But it seems that New Year's Eve isn't clicking, even on a Saturday. http://awfulannouncing.com/2017/unimpressive-cfp-semifinal-ratings-confirm-that-football-on-new-years-eve-is-a-bad-idea.html
HedleyLamarr
In other playoff news, Nick Saban has drop-kicked Lane Kiffin today because he felt Kiffin wasn't handling his Alabama duties well enough in addition to his duties at FAU. Kiffin is out, and the incoming-OC takes over immediately....Boogers McGee himself, Steve Sarkisian. Do you go red wine or white wine with boogers? DG_ThenNowForever
Too bad Sark wasn't coaching against the Huskies. Alabama's offense didn't do much anyways, but you'd have to think Washington would have had a better chance, if even by osmosis. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

The play calling was bad enough that I thought Hurts may have stolen Kiffin's girlfriend. Good thing Scarbrough did the most with his touches. FiddySicks
Pretty sickening to see Penn State winning such a big bowl game when they shouldn't even have a football team right now. 4_tattoos
I'm torn. On one hand, I feel Penn State wasn't adequately punished for the whole Sandusky scandal. On the other hand, immediate newfound success may be what Penn State needs to truly move on from Paterno's tainted legacy. Let's be honest, Joe is still worshiped by lots of PSU fans. Those people may actually need someone to replace him in their eyes *shrug* SN: PSU is now up 42-27 in the 3rd. It was looking like the Rose Bowl was going to be a USC blowout back in the 1st. DS729
This may seem like a weird observation, but I remembered one of the commentators mentioning the poor condition of the turf before the game, and after seeing all of these injuries, it makes me wonder if there's a correlation between the two. Maybe it's just a coincidence but a lot of guys on both sides have been going down with injuries. I mean this is getting ridiculous. I know it's the Rose Bowl, but it's still an exhibition game and guys are dropping left and right. A shame to see a game between two great teams being riddled with injuries on both sides.
