NFL 2016: The Regular Season Thread

I can normally convince myself that this might be the season the Bills get back into the playoffs, but I just couldn't do it this year. Their biggest accomplishment on offense this off-season was keeping an okay group together. Their plan to improve the defense was a #1 and #2 draft pick--- one out for half the season (who the team knew was injured on draft day), and one out for the whole season. That might still equal playoffs for the Packers or Patriots, but not for this team. It's a mess. GM Doug Whaley probably needs to go yesterday.

Edit: And firing the OC after the defense gives up 37 points?  Not encouraging.

As a Steelers fan, I'm annoyed we won on such a conteversial call. The knee-in-the-end zone would have most likely stood (to me it looked like the knee kicked up some grass on the end zone line), but that was not a fumble. The only explanation I have is there wasn't enough evidence, which is crap. The knee was down.

I hate the Bengals, but I'm not too pleased with that ending.

Jimmy Garoppolo is legit.

He's also gone probably 6-8.  The good news is his trade value is secured.  Matt Flynn eat your heart out.

Don't worry haters, BB will trade it down for 2 WRs who don't make it to Sept.

Let's have Drew age some his fine wine on the bench for a couple weeks.  At least they clinched 2-2 start.  If they beat the Texans on a short week without a playbook, I'll really laugh.

Really impressed with Dak today. I think Dallas is in good hands once Romo is done.

He's been impressive. He just doesn't look like a rookie. Also read he just set the (previously unknown) NFL record for most passing attempts without an INT to start a career.

Thank you for admitting this.

It is apparently legal to hold on every single play if you're a Steelers offensive lineman. The knee in the endzone should've been reviewed by Marvin Lewis, but refs, of course, couldn't call it correctly on the field. HOW THE HELL ARE THEY GOING TO JUSTIFY THAT AS A FUMBLE WHEN BOYD'S KNEE IS DOWN AND THE BALL ISN'T DISLODGED UNTIL AFTER HIS KNEE HITS THE GROUND?

Can't wait for the apologies from the league, just like after the playoff game last year. This league is a joke. So tired of these two teams playing when one has such an obvious advantage with the officials. The Bengals probably didn't deserve to win, but they do deserve a fair shake.

1. Not a touchdown, not reviewed.

2. Bengals driving to tie the game. Knee down for everyone to see in real time. Ruled fumble on the field, reviewed, somehow not overturned.

Four total field goals in the first game back in LA. What a strange start. Oddly fitting, too.

GLITZ. GLAMOUR. FIELD GOALS.
