NFL 2016: The Regular Season Thread

The Dolphins aren't ready for the playoffs, maybe another year or two, but not this year. Most (if not all) of their wins came against bad teams and of course when they play playoff contenders, they get torched. It's gonna be great watching David Johnson run all over them next week...

Oh, and can they please stop playing the Ravens ever year? They can't (and can never) beat them.

I guess Michael Felger thinks Chip did the "New England" thing and came to work.

No respectable New Englander likes Michael Felger.

Good for the Bucs. They've proved themselves down the stretch.

Packers and Cardinals won't die. As usual.

Happy Pittsburgh won. That's huge for us.  Especially over a team with a great receiving corps. Our defense has come together and we can be a scary team if we can get in.

This Raiders team is awesome

Question: was a combined winning percentage of .136/16 games under .500 the worst record heading into a game in a long time? Can't imagine many more worse of recent vintage. I can't believe a single non-required market carried that 49ers-Bears game but apparently Indianapolis did.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The Bay Area didn't get a doubleheader.

Early game was SF/CHI. BUF/OAK was also stand alone as the second game (inbetween fire updates).

Sacramento got the Giants-Steelers game, too. Only the Niners game in the morning though. I napped.

Ditto. Our secondary, which was a much maligned unit for most of the year, has quietly turned into a strength. Sean Davis and Artie Burns are really stepping up as rookies.

I love seeing the Bucs get some primetime love, but the Cowboys shouldn't get two straight SNF games. We get it, the league loves when the Cowboys are good.

The NFL should have flexed the Giants-Cowboys game out of primetime. :D

Seems like Kansas City keeps finding new and unique ways to bail out Alex Smith.

A. Smith (vs. ATL (12/4))

C/ATT  21/25

YDS     270

AVG     10.8

TD        1

INT       0

SACKS 1-4

QBR     91.2

RTG     125.0

What bailing out did they need to do for Smith??? Smith may not be the "sexiest" playing QB in the league but the disrespect he gets even after what he did last week against Denver and again with Atlanta is baffling.

College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here

The Cowboys-Bucs game in Week 15 has been flexed to Sunday Night Football.

Serious question, when was the last time Tampa was on SNF?

I think 2008, Seattle @ Tampa Week 7.

Correct, the night Mike Alstott was inducted in the ring of honor and the day the Rays clinched a World Series berth and before flex scheduling was in place.

To me this matchup is more important as flex scheduling usually moves relevant matchups.
