The Tigers, Brewers, Diamondbacks, and Padres have worn different socks, but with different uniforms, not between teammates. 80% of the league has been consistently uniform. Although I'm unsure if the Astros wore those skyline socks together or not. The Marlins were decried in their last decade in Miami Gardens for drowning all other colors in black and Loria's strange obsession with adding orange (a color locals considered better suited for Central Florida). The rebrand doubled down on both of these, made a beloved feature of their identity a strange-lined swoosh that causes most concepts for the team start with "The first thing I did was fix the Marlin. They said they'd go colorful, and then cut most of the color in their first season, if it even saw the field, instead focusing on almost entirely wearing black. That's why people are unhappy with the rebrand. They wear orange, have orange numbers, and wear their white home jerseys often enough- ALL OF THAT is an improvement over White Sox and Rockies Lite they trotted out from 2006 to 2011 (I think they wore black 120 times in 2011). It was a mess, and the teal was gone. I'm fairly certain it was a blue rather ham teal the final seasons. It certainly wasn't the same teal they used in 97 or 2003. WSU151
I have a feeling it's the Mariners. But no matter what, it looks ridiculous. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

According to Paul Lukas' article I linked to above you'll only be seeing it on Friday and Sunday of this weekend. After that they'll be auctioned off and they won't be worn again this season. Then again, the article also says that the team has some other concepts in the works so there could very possibly be some similar designs that see the field in future years. shstpt1
Im not too upset with the design, especially since it will only be used for this weekend. if it were to become a full time thing, at least its a similar color to the original helmets. VDizzle12
I would have thought the DBacks would be the first team to use a patterned helmet. Seems unnecessary for the Braves.

Speaking of which...are the Tigers still wearing their metallic navy batting helmets? I think they were the last team to have that paint...this weekend, though, it looked like they were wearing standard "gloss" navy helmets. Smart is believing half of what you hear. aawagner011
I kinda like this Braves helmet but it's so odd that they'll debut it for only two games on opening weekend at the new park and they ditch it for good. It's subtle enough that it would work well permanently and yet it still stays true to tradition. The only set that I don't think it would match well with is the cream throwback alternate. Here are some more looks at it.
JayJaxon
I think that helmet would look pretty good with the home uniform.
aawagner011
Darren Rovell tweeted a video of the Cubs gold uniforms and you can see the pinstripes bleeding through the gold numbers.
FiddySicks
I feel like they should've used the blue alt jerseys as the base instead of the pinstripes. I get the pinstripes being the Cubs home jersey, but they won the title in the blue, and it would've probably just worked better. Although once the 83 uniforms are paired with stance socks they kinda are no longer throwbacks and are just "2017 alternate uniforms in the 83 style." That's basically what they are at this point. They wear them for every Sunday home game, and have been for years now. It's basically just an alternate at this point.
zigbazah
This season has quickly taught me the NFL is damn right for insisting that socks match. What a mess.
SilverBullet1929
The helmet does look cool. Not sure any team other than the DBacks could get away with wearing it full time though but it does look nice. As for the DBacks, they're probably upset they didn't think of this first because it would fit their look quite well.

I think this is a myth, as a Marlins fan since their inception I never saw a change in the color teal. I've always heard this thought that the teal changed but I've seen no proof of that and I've been going to Marlins games and wearing Marlins merchandise since 1993. The one thing that seems to make people think this too is just how different the quality of video and photographs were back in the 90s compared to now. So because of that the coloring is off. Do a quick search of the 93 Marlins and you'll find very different looking hues of the teal, some look green some look blue some light some dark etc etc but they were all the same. And lastly even if the color changed in the end, it definitely wasn't blue, it was still a light blue-green color and I wouldn't call it just blue at all. Did a quick search of 93 Marlins pics, check out the differences. I believe the most accurate hue is the one in the bottom center pic of Conine and Santiago high fiving...
