I wish they'd just go back to the classic original SD design, never liked the 1985 bigger D version which evolved into the current logo. I actually prefer the 1985-2003 "taller" SD logo. Maybe because it's kinda the one I grew up with (though I am old enough to remember the short/wide SD). But the broken D just does not work. For me it's not the angles (though now that you mention it...) It's the "stockiness," if you will. Particularly with the "D" which is almost a square. Ray Lankford
The thing about the gap in the D is that it all bleeds together from a distance without it. In worked in the nineties when the S and the D were different colors but not so much when they're the same. Which isn't to say that the team found an elegant solution, because they didn't. Personally, I'd like to see them start from scratch but they probably won't since the current SD is on every row of seats in Petco.

No, they don't. The Padres just got rid of a jersey they had for only one year. And the matching cap, as well. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. Padres got away with it because the blue and yellow was technically a commemorative jersey and not a true change, which is why they didn't change the road gray or blue alts

While it has a unique color scheme, the font is kind of iffy, the cap logo is duplicated on the sleeve, and incorporating more yellow in the striping would be nice. It'd be good, but it'd still miss out on a lot of potential with the look. MLB: Project 32 (Complete), MLB: The Defunct Saga (Complete)

What Can Brown Do For You
Going off the brown and white scheme talk from earlier, these jerseys have been on the MLB shop for awhile as "fashion" jerseys but would go with that hat too. (They have this type of thing with every team, so nothing to read into)
